Almighty – Ch. 813

Upgrade

The world within Ancestral Dragon Ring was lively with the ecology and species inside playing around. The four kids began their cultivation journey, with Xiaobai as their mentor, and improved rapidly thanks to the resources and environment in the ring. Xiaobai would strut around with his hands behind his back. Whenever anyone slacked off, he’d spank them.

Xiaobai also consumed the Chaos Source and spent half a month refining it, helping him reach Overautarch Realm Peak. First Divine Son’s efforts at cultivating Source Divine Power made Xiaobai’s life much easier.

Yuan Xia’s blushing when she chatted with Xin Yu made it clear it was a conversation for ladies exclusively. Yuan Xia finally understood how Yang Tian improved so quickly when she visited the interior of Ancestral Dragon Ring. Since finding out the secret, she looked forward to him growing strong enough to stun her clan’s elders. Sure, she didn’t care what they thought, but they were from the same clan at the end of the day. The only pity was Yun’er had yet to wake.

Xin Yu cried when she heard Yun’er’s story. Yun’er was closer to being her daughter-in-law than Yuan Xia.

Yang Tian consumed the Melting Blood Divine Pill and entered seclusion for half a month in Ancestral Dragon Ring. He had recovered to about 80% of his normal self. There was still some energy remaining in the pill despite it behind half a month already. Unfortunately, it meant he sacrificed a valuable tool for ascending to Immortal Cave Realm. He also grew stronger. Sounds, voices, mist, lights and everything else were as epic as ever. His eleventh viscera was coming along. Every component of his body that played an integral role in combat upgraded. He spent time learning more of Nine Transformation Divine Devil Steps.

Yang Tian kept the energy accumulated in his qihai to reserve for ascending to Overautarch Realm in a single attempt. Plus, he needed to ensure he was providing himself enough time in between ascensions to solidify his foundations.

Yang Tian completely healed a month later and replenished everything he needed, albeit with sacrifices.

Xin Yu looked deathly pale, and wisps of black wreathed around her. Yuan Xia examined the inside of Xin Yu’s body, but she couldn’t find any anomalies despite the pain Xin Yu suffered. The issue’s onset started two days ago out of the blue. Xin Yu could only explain it as the same sensation as having her body set alight.

Yang Xiao worriedly asked, “Uncle Xiao, what happened to my mother?”

Yang Tian mulled on it for a moment before inquiring, “Did anyone feed you a red pill?”

Xin Yu had a think before she nodded. “A female devil did. It wasn’t an alchemy pill, but a medicinal pill.”

Yang Tian clenched his fists. He thought sealing Second Divine Daughter in a latrine was too lenient when he learnt what she did to his mother. Yang Tian asked, “What is it, Uncle Xiao?”

“It’s not alchemy; it’s a curse…”

Only devils still used curses to control people’s minds. Yang Xiao had witnessed the curse on another adept once rescued before. This particular curse would eat away at the afflicted individual’s flesh until they died if they left the vicinity of the caster.

Yuan Xia shook her head as she staggered back.

Yang Tian screamed, “How do we cure her?!”

Yang Xiao sighed. “The only way to remove the curse is to kill the caster.”

Yang Tian couldn’t defeat the caster even if he did find her. He asked, “How much longer will my mother last?”

Xin Yu was going to slowly die over the course of three months if all variables remained constant. They could delay the effects if they used enough precious herbs, but there was no telling how long they could delay it for. Yang Xiao, consequently, didn’t know how to answer.

“Tian…” Xin Yu pursed her dry lips. She grabbed Yang Tian and Yuan Xia’s hands and said, “I’m happy to have lived until now. We all have to die one day. It’s no big deal. Don’t be sad.”

“No! Mother, you’ll be right. You’ll be all right.” Yang Tian shook his head.

“Silly child.” Xin Yu smiled and placed their hands together: “I have two sons, yet I haven’t had the chance to see any of you marry. How about you two…”

Yuan Xia flinched and blushed. Yang Tian also flinched. He scratched his head; he never thought about it. In a dilemma, he remarked, “This is no time to be talking about that.”

Nightmare dragon: “You can try using Merit; it should be able to combat the curse.”
