Supreme Swordsman of the Nine Heavens – Ch. 493

Mu Clan’s Alcohol Addict

“Killing a Golden Core Realm Ninth Layer cultivator at your young age is a praiseworthy feat. May I ask who your teacher is?” Mu Tianhe inquired.

“This one does not belong to any school. He is merely here to see the city but got lost in the desert. He, therefore, had to help Mr. Mu to repay the kindness.”

Mu Tianhe was glad to hear Mu Yu wasn’t a disciple of anyone. Changing his tone to a more gregarious one, he expressed, “Feel free to stay here. We are as familiar with Clearwater City as the back of our hand. Should you need anything, please speak out, and I shall do what I can.”

“Thank you in advance.”

Mu Yu thought Mu Tianhe would be some stubborn old man. Luckily, his presumption didn’t seem true.

“Uncle Mu, arrange a personal courtyard for our guest and take care of him. He is our guest of honour and our benefactor.”

“Understood, Patriarch.”

Smiling apologetically, Mu Tianhe stated, “My sincere apologies, Feng Mu, but I must take care of business with Rongxuan right now. Please speak to Uncle Mu if you need anything.”

“Please do not mind it, Elder Mu. I shall not impose on you.”

Mu Rongxuan and Mu Tianhe hurried off. Mu Hao walked off in a huff. Mu Xin bounced up and down, pulling Mu Yu along. Uncle Mu led Mu Yu to his lodging. On the way over, a slovenly drunk man bumped into them. The man hurled the flask of wine at Mu Yu’s feet and mumbled, “Why izan outsider here? Ged losd. I don’t need treatment.”

Mu Yu tugged up an eyebrow. Uncle Bo shook his head. “Please forgive us for this unbecoming display. He is our fourth young master. Please forgive him for his unruly behaviour as he is drunk.”

Uncle Bo went to support the drunkard. “He is a guest Third Young Master invited here, not a doctor here to treat you. Mind your manners, and go back to your room.”

“Bullcrap. I don’t need a doctor.” The drunkard fell to the floor and kept mumbling, “Get lost… get lost…”

Unable to do persuade the fourth young master to pick himself up, Uncle Bo had to call for other attendants to carry him off. Uncle Bo led Mu Yu to his tranquil courtyard and put in an order for roast duck as per Xiaoshuai’s request.

“Xin, who was the drunken man?” Mu Yu asked, feasting his eyes on the clean and tidy courtyard.

“That was Fourth Uncle. Dad says there’s something wrong with his head, but I’m not sure what. For as long as I can remember, he has always been drinking, lashing out and vandalising the property after entering a drunken stupor. Dad always sighs when he sees Fourth Uncle having outbursts.”

Guess that’s why he didn’t want to elaborate when I asked, thought Mu Yu. “What’s his name?”

“His name is Mu Zhexing. Dad said he was perfectly fine when he was young; however, he started to let himself fall wayward after an accident.” Mu Xin stopped to think and then started prancing.
“Brother Feng Mu, I’ll show you around tomorrow! I know lots of paces we can have fun at! I know you’ll enjoy them.”

“You mean, you want to play, right?”

“Ehehe, I haven’t had fun in a long time. Dad used to have people accompany me since he is often busy. After our clan turmoil, he wouldn’t let me leave the house again, afraid I would be in danger. If you’re with me, though, I’ll be okay, right?”

Mu Yu beamed. “Okay, I’ll speak to your dad tomorrow about it.”

Bang! Intruding with the stench of alcohol, Mu Zhexing staggered into the room, carrying another flask of wine.

Mu Xin pinched her nose and posed with a hand on her hip. “Fourth Uncle, stop drinking.”

“Okay… Okay…” Mu Zhexing burped. He narrowed his eyes fixed on Mu Yu and badgered, “Xin, come with me. Don’t stay with outsiders. Come to my place, and I’ll play with you.”

“No. You stink.”

“Okay, stay with Hao, then. Where’s he? D-didn’t I tell him to always stick with you?” Mu Zhexing knocked back another mouthful of wine.

“Right here, Fourth Uncle. I had something to do.” Mu Hao came in to keep Mu Zhexing on his feet.

“Don’t leave Xin alone with outsiders. It… it’s dangerous.”

Mu Yu couldn’t see anything fishy about Mu Zhexing. He mused, I’m surprised he’s so cautious when he’s drunk silly. I don’t even look evil.

“Xin, Feng Mu didn’t do anything to you, did he?” Mu Hao inquired, watching Mu Yu’s every move.

“What would I possibly do to her?”

“Keep it that way. Otherwise, I’ll have Brother Mu Yu break your legs when he comes back.”

“Who gives a toss about Mu Yu? He doesn’t scare me. Whatever, kid. Xin, come see me tomorrow.” Mu Yu went back into his room.

When Uncle Mu brought food over, Xiaoshuai’s eyes sparkled and, literally, dug in, flinging bones he was done with.

“Big Earthworm, try this. Lamb testes taste great.”

“I don’t feel like a blood nose.” The dragon vine coiled around a chair and poured itself wine using its tail. “I prefer wine over meat.”

“Wine tastes terrible. You might as well drink my piss.”

“Wine can relieve one of woes and stimulate your senses.”

“What woe would you possibly have? Your ugliness getting to you?”

Back on his bed, Mu Yu stared at the ceiling and contemplated, How am I going to beat Tian Budai in two months’ time? Given the record-time Sikong Qiwen ascended to Spirit Severing Realm, his aptitude for cultivation must be multiple times superior to my own.

“Mu Yu, don’t worry about what you can’t change. How about a drink? It’ll relieve you of your worries for now, at least,” offered the dragon vine, passing Mu Yu a pot of wine.

Mu Yu accepted the offer and warmed his body up with a drink.

What does their fourth young master want to avoid to be relying on wine all day? Well, none of my business, Mu Yu decided, taking another swig.

Xiaoshuai cleared the table by the time it was dark outside. The dragon vine and Mu Yu were dozing off until Mu Yu heard someone enter the courtyard.
