Almighty – Ch. 881

Flimsy Life and Death

They were at a massive, majestic courtyard. The interior of the palace was pitch-dark. The air was spooky. When the door opened and a ray of sunlight shone in, the light erased some of the dark aura and revealed an individual with his hair in a slovenly state.

The trembling individual was the erstwhile red-robe cult leader. His dishevelled state came as a result of obtaining an ancient Chinese artefact a few decades ago. Those who deemed him insane were inexplicably found dead the next day. Their deaths were described as someone extracting their soul.

An individual who came to pay him a visit was high-ranking and influential individual, yet he feared the cult leader. He shakily walked over to the leader and politely said, “Cult Leader, my nation is in trouble. I would like to ask for to you succour.”

The cult leader raised his head, revealing his red eyes behind his veil of hair. Voice eerie, he asked, “You prepared to pay the price?”

“I have prepared a hundred young women.”

One thing was clear: those one hundred women would not live for much longer.

“Good. What’s his name?”

“There are two of them, a male and a female: Yang Tian and Qing Xiaoyue!”

The nation was insistent on eliminating the fearsome Yang Tian who could split the Earth with a stomp.

“He’s Chinese. Didn’t I tell you not to aggravate China? They’re no pushovers!”

The cult leader once flew into a fit of rage when a daoist annoyed him on Wudang Mountain during his holiday. After murdering the daoist, an old daoist showed up and nearly killed him with a single finger jab. Had it not been for the artefact he had on him, he would have met his demise.

“We shall prepare one thousand young women for you, then. Our nation’s survival rides on this!”

The cult leader nodded and imperiously replied, “One thousand? All right. Get lost now. You’ll hear of his death soon.”

“Thank you, Cult Leader, thank you.” The individual shut the door with a smile.

“Once I’m done learning Flimsy Life and Death, I’ll avenge my loss in China!”

The cult leader took out a black book with text eerily carved on – Flimsy Life and Death! The book was passed around during a world war. The cult leader eventually picked it up and researched it for decades just to learn a small part of it. It allowed its wielder to determine life and death!

After the cult leader learnt of the book’s secret, he began to secretly study Chinese culture, especially ancient records. According to rumours from the netherworld, writing someone’s name in the book was enough to kill them! When he witnessed it actually work, he was aghast. He also learnt it was one of the three Heaven, Earth and Humanity books!

The cult leader opened the book and picked up a brush stolen from China during the world war. There was a pen designated specifically for the book: Judge Pen. He had yet to find it, so he had to use a replacement.

“Yang Tian and Qing Xiaoyue, was it? I like her name.”

After writing “Qing,” the cult leader began to engrave the rest of Qing Xiaoyue’s name.

Meanwhile, Yang Tian had returned to Mount Tai from the desert. Qing Xiaoyue unhappily asked him what the plan was because he planned to go back to cultivating. She did not know anybody else, so she would die from boredom in the cave. Because the cave contained his injury, he needed to cultivate there. He offered to send her home. Nevertheless, she preferred not to. She suggested going to Mount Kunlun for some fun, goading him with the potential of finding something.

Mount Kunlun was where the black bear’s purple and gold bell came from. The bell was what brought him to the world Yang Tian came from. Thus, he suspected the black bear came from this planet. To explore the mystery, he agreed to the suggestion, even smiling.

Qing Xiaoyue suddenly looked ghastly pale, trembled and collapsed on the ground. Something drained her life force and soul. Yang Tian could not sense any life from her. He materialised a hand to seal the void and peered into it. Yang Tian spotted a voodoo skill that was capable of shape shifting.

“Damn it!” cursed Yang Tian.

Yang Tian powered up and transferred Vitality to Qing Xiaoyue via his hand.

“Brother Yang Tian, Xiaoyue is dying.”

“Don’t be silly. You’ll be okay.”

Yang Tian transferred Merit to Qing Xiaoyue from his hand, shielding her against the voodoo attack.
