Almighty – Ch. 769

Incredible Transformation

The Dao temple within was unadorned, yet everyone was thrilled to see it. Di Lin’s gaze immediately drifted to the sign again; he had his teeth clenched, determined to stop anyone from taking it. Everyone expected rare treasures, but all they saw was a sign lying there. Yuan Xia speculated Yang Tian opened the doors.

“Go on…” The tree granted Yuan Xia a doll, putting a smile on her face. She was also glad to know there was an opportunity waiting for Yang Tian inside.

The other races were still hung up over the twenty-nine remaining dolls on the tree. Even the miracle stone shook to sulk about not having one so that he could shave off a few years of absorbing vital essence.

Yang Tian touched his nose and bowed to the tree before heading off, rendering everyone but his allies uneasy. He gradually disappeared in the mist. The door shut behind him the moment he entered the temple. He looked over his shoulder, then up at the sign. He couldn’t make anything out of the two characters that he didn’t recognise on the sign. He pulled his eyebrows as he engaged his brain. He wondered if the sign was what was worshipped.

Yang Tian looked down at the yellow cushion. He bent down to touch it. It sent a soothing sensation through his body. He tried calling the nightmare dragon for questioning, but the idea failed. Ancestral Dragon Ring was forbidden in the temple, surprisingly. He looked around again, then clenched his teeth. “The tree saved my life and let me in. There must be an opportunity waiting for me. I can’t miss this chance.”

Yang Tian knelt down on the cushion and kowtowed before shutting his eyes to wait in silence. He soon felt someone was watching him. He, therefore, opened his eyes and scanned the surroundings. To his joy, he spotted a Divine Soul. “Uncle Xiao, how did you come in?”

Yang Xiao shook his head. “I’m not sure, either. I was sitting in Ancestral Dragon Ring just a second ago and was here before I knew it.”

Yang Tian pointed to the sign. “Uncle Xiao, what is that?”

Yang Xiao looked to the sign. “I don’t know, but let me see.”

Yang Xiao went and touched the sign with his finger. Sensing an omen, Yang Tian intended to call off the idea, but the door suddenly opened, allowing a lethal energy beam to fire at Yang Xiao. Yang Xiao grunted and scrunched his face up upon taking the hit.

Yang Tian thundered, “Uncle Xiao!”

Yang Tian launched Vajra Jewel at the sign. Clang! The collision didn’t even budge the sign, yet the jewel cracked. Yang Tian coughed up a mouthful of blood. He then roared violently and desperately summoned World Cauldron before Yang Xiao was doomed. Clang! The cauldron and sign’s collision shook the palace, and sparks flew. Like a mad man, he repetitively smashed the sign. Alas, since the sign possessed the same might as the divine golden staff, Yang Tian’s arm snapped after several smashes.

With his last ounce of energy, Yang Xiao shouted, “Don’t worry about me and run!”

“No!” Yang Tian kept trying despite all the damage his arm took.

Yang Xiao felt his life fading. His Divine Soul dimmed. He weakly muttered, “Go… Go…”

After the last clang, Yang Tian froze. A big rock pressed up against his chest restricted his breathing. His back bent. He belted in agony. He could only watch as Yang Xiao gradually vanished with a smile. Furious, Yang Tian’s eyes turned red. He grabbed his cauldron with both hands and attacked the sign rampantly.

Boom! The door opened again, and the energy beam shot out at Yang Tian. He widened his eyes, but he couldn’t evade in time.

“Watch out!”

Yuan Xia jumped in front of the beam all of a sudden, allowing the beam to impale her through her chest, blood gushing out onto Yang Tian’s face. He felt he was in hell. Panting heavily, he coughed up a mouthful of blood, causing his vital essence level to plummet rapidly. Within an instant, he aged decades. His black hair turned white, his eyes wrinkled and hostile.

“Yang Tian…” Yuan Xia clasped Yang Tian’s face and revealed a sweet smile. She muttered, “This might be our last goodbye. With the memories we made together, I have no regrets. Live on. Live on for Yun’er. Pretend I was never here.”

“No… This isn’t real… This isn’t real…!”

Yang Tian carried Yuan Xia’s cold, weakening body in his arms and staggered back until he tripped onto the ground. He pointed to the sky and bellowed, “My love and hatred cannot be disconnected from each other. I have yet to exact my vengeance, yet the two girls I love had died for me! Am I destined to be alone for eternity?!”

The two girls did too much for him. He yearned for them.
