Almighty – Ch. 749

Killing Intent

The youth in white with the fan conversed with two others. The three were geniuses. The comments from people around caught Cao Feng’s attention. They perfectly suited the criteria he was recruiting. He approached them with a friendly and passionate attitude. “Hello, this one is Cao Feng. May I ask for your names?”

“Cao Feng…” The individual in white was surprised. He smiled. “I am Bai Qian. May I ask what business you have?”

The individual in green: “Would you happen to be part of the eight big clans?”

Cao Feng nodded jovially/ “Indeed. This one is from Cao Clan.”

“Mm, the three of us have always respected Cao Clan. Pardon me if I am wrong, but you must be the first placer for rank eight pills in the alchemy convention a few months ago!”

“I am. I am.” Cao Feng’s ego felt good. It came as quite the surprise to him.

Bai Qian: “Why are so many people gathered here?”

“Fate brought us together. How about dropping by Cao Clan’s cave as guests? I would allow me to fulfil my role as your host.” Cao Feng performed an invitational hand gesture.

Individual in yellow: “Haha, that would be great.”

When they arrived at the cave, Bai Qian smiled wryly. There were concealed formations set up there. Many adepts were lying in ambush. It was safe to assume Cao Feng didn’t invite cultivators to their cave out of kind will.

The improvised cave was decorated with posh furniture and ornaments. It glowed as if it was a world for empyreans.

As soon as he entered, Yang Tian felt something was odd. He shifted his gaze to an ancient bronze mirror. The mirror was a replica of Fiend Mirror. Besides another function, it could function as an identity detector. It shone a light on them. The three appeared in the mirror. After a small ripple, the mirror returned to normal. It couldn’t see through his One Qi Three Clones technique. He was glad he didn’t enter.

Yang Xiao: “Hehe, find a chance to steal it. It originally belonged to our clan. We lost it to them in a bet.”

Yang Tian: “What? That was silly. Why is it called Fiend Mirror?”

Yang Xiao: “Because it is their weakness. It works on devils, as well. It can trap their Divine Soul as soon as it shines on them! It might be a replica, but it rivals World Scroll.”

Yang Tian pretended to have a nip of tea. “The mirror seems quite unique…”

Cao Feng smiled. “You have fantastic judgement. It’s an offensive artefact, but it’s only Dao Rank.”

Bai Qian: “Would you be all right with trading a ten-thousand-year-old herb for it?”

Cao Feng turned gloomy and forced a smile. “It is my senior’s property. I will have to ask him.”

Bai Qian fanned himself with a smile. “Great.”

Cao Feng had no intention of making good on his word. “My brother is inside. I shall call him over. Please wait a moment.”

Yang Tian glanced back at Fiend Mirror after Cao Feng left. He had to resist the urge to steal it and thought up a viable plan. All of a sudden, his Bloodline was stimulated. His purple dragon roared out. He was dead certain Yuan Xia was in the cave. The stimulation abruptly stopped.

Yuan Xia sat in another misty cave of modest size. Formations were set up all around. She stifled her voice and exclaimed, “You’ll regret this, Cao Jiang!”

Cao Jiang: “Regret it? I don’t know what regret is. Once I get my hands on the Xiantian divine artefact, I’ll kill him.”

Yuan Xia snickered. “Do you even have what it takes?”

“Hmph! Once this is done, I’ll ask for your hand in marriage. It’s not up to you to decide.”

Yuan Xia was going to respond, but her pentachrome phoenix tweeted, informing her Yang Tian was nearby to her joy.

The short-lasting Bloodline activation was a sign the formation blocked off Bloodline links.

Yuan Xia was tricked into entering the cave, and she regretted it. Her smile and anticipation were entertainment for Cao Jiang, who said, “I knew you’d agree. We’re childhood friends. We’re a match made in heaven.”

Yuan Xia: Idiot.

Yuan Xia activated her Bloodline with all she had. Cao Jiang thought her silence was a sign of shyness. Suddenly, Cao Feng rained on his parade. “Big Bro, I brought us three decent cultivators.”

Cao Jiang was furious. How could adepts be more important than his beautiful woman? He exclaimed, “Didn’t I tell you not to disturb me?!”

Cao Feng: “Ugh…”

Cao Feng couldn’t hide his lust for Yuan Xia upon seeing her. He chuckled, but he didn’t like the order. “Since you are busy, I shall not disturb you.”

Cao Feng couldn’t have Yuan Xia because Cao Jiang was the eldest son and the strongest. Cao Jiang smiled as he watched Cao Jiang leave. He turned back around to whine.

The three Yang Tians opened their eyes and aggressively clenched their fists simultaneously. Yuan Xia sent him a message that triggered his killing intent.
