Almighty – Ch. 360

Xiaobai’s Bloodline

Yang Xiao couldn’t figure out how anyone besides big factions could enter – unless somebody muscled their way through the killing formations. Yang Tian would be reduced to mincemeat if he jumped into the double-layer barrier.

“Uncle Xiao, how do we enter?”

Yang Xiao was somewhat wary, although he watched Xiaobai eat with a smile. “Haha, it’ll be on him to blaze a trail.”

Xiaobai blew out a corrosive white mist that could dismantle formations without causing damage.  He swallowed the pure bloodstone he was eating. Then, he went over to the barrier. His bell jingled as he walked, stopping the energy from touching him. His golden furs dispersed a golden light. His divine attribute escaped him. He hooted in a loud voice and leapt up. His body was wrapped in a divine light.

“That’s Xiaobai’s Bloodline power. He’s going to manifest his ancestor’s phantom!” Yang Xiao once witnessed a Heaven Devouring Divine Beast suck half of a star domain’s energy in a single breath.

Yang Tian muttered, “I just wonder when we will find his ancestor’s grave.”

Xiaobai’s body rumbled. He brayed, radiating brighter. Phantasmal wings sprouted from his back. The manifested phantom bore a striking resemblance to the stone statue. His ancestor ushered vital essence toward him. A tiny amount of Xiaobai’s ancestor’s aura was enough to strike fear into the heart of the devil race. Afraid, the caskets ceased their ruckus. Xiaobai cheerfully bounced around and wagged his tail, albeit looking a tad tired.

Xiaobai’s ancestor glanced at him, then turned his attention to the barrier up ahead. He fired a white beam at the barrier, undulating it. The beam drilled its way into the barrier to produce a white passageway. Sadly, it squirmed as if it would collapse.

Yang Xiao widened his eyes. “Hurry! It won’t last for long!”

Yang Xiao gusted up a gale to propel them into the passageway. Yang Tian could feel the immense energy once he was inside; even his divine soul trembled. Once they crossed the passageway, it collapsed. The barrier was restored as though nothing ever happened. Yang Tian let out a breath of relief. However, the diabolic energy in the dark dimension quickly got to him.

They were in a black miasma covering inch of the landscape. The winds blew violently as an enormous devil Yang Tian saw flew toward him. Its wings blocked out any light from above. It disregarded what happened to the life forms below when it flapped its wings. Once it flew off into the distance, Yang Tian realised his back was drenched in sweat; he was a claw away from death moments ago.

After scanning the surroundings, Yang Xiao remarked, “The place has changed compared to what I remember.”

“Uncle Xiao, there is hardly any energy to absorb in here.”

“I didn’t know how the environment had changed so drastically. This place used to be one of the richest places on Eastern Continent. Rogue cultivators cultivated here. Auspicious Beasts gathered here. Cranes were ubiquitous. A qilin was also once spotted!”

The reason the place’s energy was potent when the devils first emerged was to leverage the abundance of energy to seal and exterminate them. Regrettably, barely a trace of energy remained. The place became a perfect ground for the devils and impossible for humans to use for cultivation.

Xiaobai opened his mouth to absorb the energy, finishing in the blink of an eye. Yang Tian poked Xiaobai’s small belly after he finished digesting the energy. Yang Tian was surprised Xiaobai’s belly was so soft. He pondered if Xiaobai really did digest the energy so quickly. Xiaobai cheerfully and proudly leapt up. Yang Tian shook his head and sighed.

Yang Tian continued advancing. Yang Xiao couldn’t navigate the area due to the complete makeover. Running water was audible after walking for several kilometres. Yang Tian crossed through a forest of dead trees to reach another desolate region.

Waves rose dozens of metres in the body of water. The water surface was unusually dark and cold enough to sense from a distance.

Yang Tian looked over his shoulder to see a beast with black scales standing dozens of metres tall. The black snake resembled a dragon with its large wings and horn.

What is this monster? Is this the Nightmare Dragon Uncle Xiao mentioned?!
