Eye in the Sky Seal
“Wake up!”
Yang Tian froze as he returned to his sense. His heart palpitated for some reason. He took in a deep breath to restore calmness. “Uncle Xiao, what just happened?”
“You were almost hypnotised. Lots of people, including adepts, in the world of cultivation fall victim to treasures. Your mental cultivation is underdeveloped. I think it’s attributed to you pushing your rate of progress excessively fast recently.”
Being controlled by a treasure was akin to being turned into a walking zombie. The fighting spirit would also depend on the treasures. It was the same concept as Yang Tian’s Ancestral Dragon Ring being able to alter the flow of time.
Yang Tian had a smooth run as of late, breaking through several lesser realms within a month. As a consequence, his developed an impetuous mentality. On top of that was his clan’s vendetta.
“While it’s good to pursue power, you need to be alive to pursue it. In a world of deceit at every turn, protecting yourself is the only way to survive. Remember not to lose yourself for what’s right in front of you. Your journey ahead is a long one. You haven’t even taken your first step into the cultivation world.”
“Understood.” Yang Tian was a determined young man. Still, if he relied too much on external factors, his journey to the top would be fraught with many more obstacles.
“Cultivators are people who go on an arduous journey to defy their fate. Pause your cultivation for the meantime, and focus on pill concoction temporarily.”
“Mm, understood.”
Yang Tian got up and looked at the competitive scene. Then, he spun around and stepped into a teleportation formation. When he arrived in the corridor, he examined his life force. For whatever reason, he felt a crisis was encroaching upon him. He seldom felt the ominous feeling. He lingered in place for a while before continuing on his way.
Meng Yunxi lazily leaned on the door to a room with an ancient vibe. “Brother Yang Tian, are you leaving now?”
“I have some business to attend to. Thanks for taking care of me the last few days.”
Meng Yunxi was one who showed she respected her relationship with Yang Tian. Lots of clans were searching for him to no avail thanks to her. Therefore, he was grateful.
“Hehe, there’s no need to be so distant. I’m not used to it…”
“I’ll have to bother you to dig up more on my brother. I’ll be back.”
“Oh, by the way, I have some good news for you. All of the people in the alliance that are preparing to assault the palace are Almighty adepts and above.”
Fallen Devils’ Grounds wasn’t a playground. If all Meng Yunxi’s forces were to be wiped out in an attempt to defeat it, she’d be done for.
“I suggest you clan stays out of it. Else, you’ll regret it.”
Worried herself, Meng Yunxi heaved a big breath. “I’ll do what I can… I don’t have absolute authority over Meng Clan.”
“Don’t blame me if you’re annihilated. Dissuade them if you can. Bye.”
“Before you leave, let me remind you that Ancient Sacred Grounds appears to have a group of people at the city doors. Be careful. It bothers me.”
“Thank you for the kind reminder.”
Yang Tian, watching the crowd on the streets, let out a breath of relief and then headed to the city doors. There were a lot more people at the doors than before. Most of them were around seventeen to eighteen. The guards at the door were very fearful of the group of young men. Even the adept who broke through to Transcendent Realm didn’t dare to go near them.
As Yang Tian approached the door they were at, his eye twitched. “Uncle Xiao, why does something seem amiss to me?”
Yang Xiao surveyed the doors. “Let’s go and take a look for now.”
“That’s him.” Gu Qi condescendingly cast his gaze Yang Tian’s way when Yang Tian nearly reached the door.
Gu Qi wasn’t punished after what took place last time. Instead, he was reassigned to guard duty at the main doors of Demon Subjugation City.
Guards went over to inspect Yang Tian, who removed his hood to reveal his ordinary appearance. The guards let him through when they couldn’t find anything wrong with him. When he passed by Gu Qi, his unease intensified again. But nonetheless, he tried to go on with a straight face.
I’ve only just learnt a bit of Shape Shifting, but it should be enough to slip past them, right?
Yang Tian’s unease haunted him until he stepped through the last fence.
Suddenly, an invisible blast shot down toward from the sky!
“This again!” Yang Tian squinted. It was the same energy that detected him the first time while he was on the run.
People spun around when they sensed the quirk in the atmosphere.
“Is this Eye of the Sky Seal? … No, it’s an copy!” Yang Xiao took in a deep breath.
The seal could reveal all in the sky and earth; nothing could escape its radar.
Yang Tian’s appearance appeared after a few seconds and air-bending magic.
Gu Qi trembled as his vengeful desires crept into his eyes.
“What the hell is that?” cursed Yang Tian.
Gu Qi snickered. “I’ve finally got you. Capture him!”
The dozens of other young men bound over to Yang Tian. Yang Tian summoned his qi and blood river in epic fashion again. Yang Tian roared as he launched an earth-shattering punch. The punch confined Gu Qi and his allies in Profound Connection Realm’s bodies, as well as qi and blood, in the void. Then, he sprinted off full pelt. If there were any other adepts around, he was doomed.
The guards resisted the urge to chase him. They couldn’t afford to offend either side. Yang Tian was no longer his former self. Chasing him with their meagre numbers and power was the equivalent of asking to be bodied.
