Yang Tian wasn’t surprised the elder and Yu Yao kept going back and forth, though it was undoubtedly irritating. He slowly rose to his feet and gave the elder a smile. “If you would kindly do so, I shall entrust her to you for the meantime, Elder.”
Yu Yao glared and stomped. “Wh-?! Oh my god!’
Yang Tia shrugged. Hopeless, he explained, “Her divine body disposition helps her progress better at alchemy. It’s considerably inferior to Fire Deity, but your clan’s cultivation methods don’t suit her.”
The elder laughed heartily. “Exactly. This old one’s cultivation isn’t very advanced; nonetheless, he promises to ensure she becomes an outstanding alchemist.”
Yang Tian narrowed his eyes and smiled. “I am entrusting her safety to you. The devil sect is searching the continent for divine body Sources!”
“Fret not, young man. This old one promises not to let any harm befall her.”
Yang Tian patted Tingting on the head with a smile. “Tingting, cultivate under this elder’s tutelage from now.”
“Big Brother, I…” Since Yang Tian looked serious, Tingting timidly said, “Big Brother, will I get to see you again?”
“Of course. He will frequently visit you.” The elder smiled and tossed Yang Tian a token. “Keep the token safe. If you ever wish to join Alchemy Alliance, this old one will ensure you are treated fairly.”
Yu Yao grumbled, “Tsk, tsk, somebody needs to wake up…”
Yang Tian put an interspatial ring onto Tingting’s finger. “Keep this safe. When you can access it, do so.”
The mysterious girl was amazed with Yang Tian upon seeing the interspatial ring.
“Young man, you are a generous one. This old one has nothing but respect for you.” The elder shook his head and sighed before heading out.
“Big Brother, remember to visit Tingting.”
Yang Tian revealed a warm smile.
The pure gold token had a pill character carved onto it. It could also be used as a weapon.
Dan Xueyi explained, “The alliance has twenty of them. They only hand them to outsiders if the outsider contributed significantly to the sect. Presenting it at the alliance’s clans’ stores will provide a fifty percent off discount. It can also be used to ask Alchemy Alliance for a favour.”
Yu Yao cured her lips. “Hmph, you have zero business acumen.”
Yang Tian rolled his eyes. The mysterious girl had departed without anyone noticing by the time he searched for her.
Xuanyuan Mu then got up and bid farewell. “Don’t forget to come to the auction in ten days’ time.”
Yu Yao grumpily dragged Ningxue off.
Dan Xueyi smiled. “Sir, the token can be presented at Pill Pagoda if you wish to cultivate there. Follow me.”
Yang Tian justified it would be a feasible way of avoiding Unfettered Valley. “All right.”
Dan Xueyi leaned in toward Yang Tian and smiled. Voice charming, she stated, “What is your name? You haven’t introduced yourself to me.”
Yang Tian’s finger jolted. He smiled back. “My name is Meng Tian.”
“Meng Tian? You sure? I won’t eat you. Why would you try to deceive me?” complained Dan Xueyi, tears forming in her eyes.
Yang Tian’s hairs stood up and curled his lips. “Why would I lie to you? We don’t know each other.”
“Your fib is obvious.”
Yang Tian shook his head. “I didn’t lie. I’m being honest.”
“As if…”
The duo arrived at the crimson, hot, shimmering, towering, Vital-Essence-abundant, nine-storey pagoda’s ground floor with a flame at the bottom.
Dan Xueyi smiled. “This is Pill Pagoda. We invested heavily into each floor. You will gain more with less when practicing alchemy inside.”
Dan Xueyi giggled in a soft voice. “It costs an ocean-worth of bloodstones to rent a pill room in here. You can use one for free with your golden token.”
Yang Tian touched his nose. He peered up to the top, which was where he wanted to go. The top provided rare land and a flame Source. Wearing a smile, he asked, “Can I use the top floor?”
Dan Xueyi: “You have good judgement. The top floor is the most important place. It’s a forbidden floor not even my grandpa can go to.”
Yang Tian scratched his head. “Ugh… What’s so special about the top floor that it’s so strictly guarded?”
“A cultivator from ancient times constructed the pagoda. There is a mysterious flame on the top floor that can transform one’s body, make comprehending Source easier and a profound place called The Place of the Beginning. If you want to cultivate in there, you would need to make it into the top ten.”
“Ugh…”
Yang Tian: I wonder why they wouldn’t make it accessible if it makes grasping Source easier.
