Deepest Buried Memories!
The stone tablet was Divine Garden’s. Inside it was a void. The stone tablet split open. Everyone rushed in. Saying half of them would exit it in the end was optimistic.
Yang Tian spotted Meng Yunxi in her armour.
Yang Tian:“The space within is on the small side. Use your jade slip to communicate once we’re inside.”
Yun’er: “Okay.”
If Yang Tin had a devil dragon, he could fit Yun’er in there.
Yang Tian looked over his shoulder to see a hostile.
Sometime after entering, Yang Tian was taken to a familiar, yet foreign, building. He saw his naïve self at nine years old. Young Yang Tian looked around and touched. Something felt odd to him. A middle-aged woman walked up to him and smiled sweetly when she pinched his face. “What are you looking at, Sweetie?”
Young Yang Tian: “Mother, what is this place?”
The woman grabbed young Yang Tian and led him out the door. “Are you silly…? Didn’t you want to learn martial arts? Your father has agreed to let you learn. You can go on adventures on the continent with your brother in the future?”
“Martial arts? Go on adventures with Brother?” Young Yang Tian asked, seemingly trying to avoid certain memories.
The secret manual room was familiar. The seniors greeted Young Yang Tian. People pinched his face. He struggled to decide on a cultivation method among the variety available. The woman giggled and handed him a jade slip. “Sweetie, this Colourful Sacred Flame Technique is suitable for beginners.”
Young Yang Tian’s memories surfaced when he looked at the manual.
The woman picked him up and started heading home. “What’s the matter today? You keep spacing out.”
A girl around young Yang Tian’s age skipped over. “Yang Tian… Yang Tian…”
“Qingxue is here.” The woman dimpled. “Qingxue, you two are going to be engaged. What do you think?”
“I’m happy.” Li Qingxue covered her red cheeks.
“Li Qingxue… engagement…?” Young Yang Tian repeated to himself.
Out of nowhere, young Yang Tian broke free of the woman’s hold, then shoved Li Qingxue to the ground, startling the woman. The girl burst out crying, afraid in addition to confused. Young Yang Tian surprised even himself; however, some memories crossed the barrier of time. Before he sped off, he shouted, “I hate you… Go away!”
The woman didn’t know what to say to the limp girl ceaselessly crying.
Young Yang Tian’s gaze began to show feelings beyond innocence. His uncharacteristic manners troubled the woman. He spent the last few days holed up in his room. The clan elders who visited couldn’t pinpoint the issue, either.
Young Yang Tian’s restlessness gradually increased on a rainy day. The woman peered out the window and felt something ominous waiting to happen.
A middle-aged man walked up to her with his eyebrows furrowed. “Me, too.”
The heaven rain intensified later in the night. Yang Clan’s thousand members raced outside to see a figure in the void on a killing spree. The booms and flashes woke young Yang Tian from his slumber. He ran outside to find himself shocked at the sight of his murdered clansmen. The individuals in black were the culprits.
Yang Tian curled up in a corner and quietly murmured, “Mother… I’m cold…”
The woman’s eyes were red. Blood tarnished her appearance. She covered Yang Tian’s eyes. In a shaky and soft voice, she assured, “I’m right here. Don’t be scared.”
An elder on the brink of death, body on fire, exclaimed, “Take him and run!”
Yang Tian saw through the gaps in the woman’s fingers. He saw his third grandpa reduced to mush with his own eyes.
“It’s over!” Young Yang Tian stood up and expressed a desire to kill through his gaze.
