Yang Tian decided it was time to settle the score with Gu Ji. While Gu Ji was focused solely on the relationship between Gu Lingyun and the elder, Yang Tian caught him using an invisible hand. Defenceless, Yang Tian threw him into Three-legged Crow Divine Furnace. The bones at the bottom of the furnace frightened Gu Ji.
“Who are you? Release me. I’m Ancient Sacred Ground’s direct disciple!”
“Long-time no see,” remarked Yang Tian, divine soul looking down on Gu Ji from within.
“Y-Yang Tian!”
Sitting in the air, Yang Tian questioned, “Now, what is your motley crew here for?”
Gu Ji suddenly realised the elder was unable to pick up on Yang Tian’s presence. After deliberation, he snickered. “You can forget prying information out of me. Focus on releasing me.”
Yang Tian bemoaned why Yang Xiao didn’t teach him Soul Refining Technique. Anyway, he then dropped golden flames down on Gu Ji. Gu Ji cried out in fear. Yang Tian was genuinely afraid he’d kill Gu Ji. Gu Ji didn’t attack the flames. Yang Tian said, “Call me after you think it through.”
Yang Tian sneaked over to the cave Gu Lingyun was in. The duo deployed a concealment formation, so he suspected they were up to something shady. He fired a red beam from his forehead. It dispersed the grey mist and continued through. The scene inside was sensual enough to sear his face.
The elder was sarcastically grateful to Yang Tian as their clan decided to execute Gu Lingyun after she attacked Yang Tian during the battle with Li Clan. That was their way of justifying Yang Tian’s ascension in the future. To save her own life, Gu Lingyun offered herself to the elders. At the same time, she planned to kill all those she detested once they reached the secret realm.
Yang Tian was quite confident he could kill the duo. In the end, somebody came while he was hesitating. Hence, he withdrew his divine light.
Gu Ming, a middle-aged man, was in the same generation as Gu Lingyun. He scanned the surroundings until settling on the cave and frowned. He destroyed the formation outside with a single blow to get in, startling the one-armed elder. Gu Lingyun shrieked and covered her body with her black robe.
Gu Ming: “This is preposterous!”
Gu Ming struck to kill the two sinners and clear Ancient Sacred Ground’s name.
The elder in white panicked. “First Elder, please spare me…”
Gu Ming stopped once his hand touched the elder’s head. He sternly exclaimed, “I’m sparing you two for priority’s sake!”
“Thank you for showing mercy, First Elder…” The one-armed elder heaved a breath of relief.
Gu Ming sighed when he glanced over to Gu Lingyun. She shuddered when she saw how melancholic he looked. She couldn’t resist uttering, “Brother Ming…”
Yang Tian didn’t follow too closely to err on the safe side.
The trio suddenly realised Gu Ji was missing. Gu Ming smiled out of irritation. With a nephrite disc in one hand, he waved his other hand. “I’ll go rendezvous with Second Elder.”
Yang Tian followed behind the trio. Half a day later, he followed a hundred people to a mysterious region. Leading them were four Almighty adepts. The group consisted of Battle Kings and Emperors. The one-armed elder found a silver disc. Excited, he declared, “First Elder, I have found it. This is the artefact not even Dao Deity Mountain can erase, Star Navigation Disc!”
The middle-aged man dallied for a moment before exiting the cave with a sorrowful look. Gu Lingyun regretted rejecting in the past. The story between her and those associated was complex.
