Almighty – Ch. 381

Heartache

Last night was one crazy one. Yang Tian vividly remembered entering a miraculous world he felt revolved around him. As if he fused with nature, he saw the initial form of Chaos and the birth of countless lives in the realm of “Dao begets One. One begets Two. Two begets Three. Three begets all things.”  It felt akin to an infant growing up alongside a hazy figure in there. They looked as though they were fusing. A shattered scene appeared before him. When the scene disappeared, he felt stronger. The beauty beside him entered a realm that allowed her to grow stronger even faster.

Yang Tian opened his eyes at a slow pace until a certain point when the sunlight shining through the next day. He vigorously opened his eyes at that point and cried, “You’re up!”

Yuan Xia stood before Yang Tian with a cold demeanour and greater aura.

The events of last night replayed in Yang Tian’s mind. He jumped to his feet and hesitantly muttered, “Yuan Xia…”

Yuan Xia’s cold look warmed up a little after a long eye exchange. However, her resentment intensified, forming a figurative barrier neither could cross. Her gaze caused Yang Tian’s heart to throb. He didn’t regret hurting her; he would’ve done the same thing had he been given the option to choose again. He wouldn’t be Yang Tian if he did it out of lust. He always was a loyal, affectionate individual who wanted to watch over his own world.

Yang Tian apologised meekly. He didn’t know what to say when he knew he had no right to give any form of promise nor did he dare to. He wanted to protect and love Yun’er for all the times she risked her life for him, as well. He and Yuan Xia were closer after everything they went through together, but he could sense the wall between them, one he would only be able to smash down once he was strong.  He knew, in a world where power reigned supreme, one had no business talking about protecting anything or anyone or pursing anything without power.

Yuan Xia relaxed her hands and shook her head. “Forget it. You can’t h-”

“I won’t. I know I’m weak; however, there’s nothing to prove I won’t grow stronger.”

“Who cares if you’re strong or not?! What does it prove if you are? What?” Yuan Xia wept and quivered with her hand raised.

“I’ll pursue you if I’m strong. I will never forget what I’ve done!”

Yuan Xia clenched her fists again and bit down on her lip. Voice shaky, she threatened, “I’ll kill you.”

Yang Tian gritted his teeth and shut his eyes. Voice stifled, he responded, “Kill me if you if you can find it in your heart to. That’ll make you feel better, too.”

“You…” Yuan Xia’s hand shook. She calmed herself with a deep breath. “All right! I’ll wait until you can stand on even footing with me before I, personally, kill you.”

Yang Tian opened his eyes and raced after Yuan Xia. “Stop! Don’t go.”

Yuan Xia froze for a second but resolutely departed in the end. She didn’t blame Yang Tian entirely, but she was scared after the fact. Although her Bloodline pestered her over it, she struggled to come to terms with it.

As much as Yang Tian felt guilty, he couldn’t forget what happened. The young man in him conjured fantasies and desires to hold Yuan Xia tight. It was akin to a dream. He wanted to do nothing more than protect her from harm. “Keep running and I’ll kill myself on a wall!”

Yuan Xia turned around to look at him with her fists clenched. “If you want to die so soon, fine.”

“Who are you talking to? I never said anything about wanting to die,” replied Yang Tian, laughing as he threw her an object.

“Uh…” Yuan Xia examined the natural rock she caught. She muttered, “A bloodphoenix divine stone. Judging from its divine attribute, it must’ve been nourished for years… Our clan’s has gone missing.”

As bloodphoenix divine stones were the closest to their clan’s body type, they were able to maximise its potential.

Looking at her blank expression, Yang Tian scratched his head with a smile. “I picked it up by chance. It’s yours now.”

Yuan Xia bit down on her lip and threw the stone back at Yang Tian. Quietly, she remarked, “Who ever asked for it?”

Yang Tian caught the stone with a frown. Angry, he hurled it far away and exclaimed, “Take it or leave it. If you leave it, leave it there for good.”

Yang Tian then sat down on the ground and exhaled hard. Worried a Mutated Beast would waltz off with it, he hopped up to go and pick it up in the end.

“Don’t waste your time searching. It’s already been picked up,” Yang Xiao weakly stated.

Yang Tian rushed into Ancestral Dragon Ring.

Note: Yes, they got intimate, and it wasn’t censored; it was simply not written.
