Entering Fallen Devils’ Grounds Again
Yang Ba couldn’t absolve himself of the role he played in Yang Tian’s state. Kun Hu and the others watched Yang Ba lose control of his emotions – a first ever since they went through countless brushes with death. There was no way to nurse Yang Tian back to full health for there would be lingering damage that would stick with him unless they had some inconceivable pills for him.
Yun’er caressed Yang Tian’s face. “It was all my fault… It was all because of me…”
Yang Xiao trod over to as though he was lifting his legs out of knee-deep mud to check Yang Tian’s pulse. Ancestral Dragon Ring managed to protect Yang Tian’s heart from Li Long’s attack, or he’d be dead already.
“Elder… how is Tian?”
Voice weak, Yang Xiao eventually slowly answered, “He should make it…”
“R-really, Elder?”
Yang Xiao muttered under his breath, “Mm, I think he’ll have to break through earlier than scheduled. Whether or not he can make it will depend on this transcendence pill.”
The reason transcendence pills were named as so was because part of the process included shedding one’s old body for a new one. How much Yang Tian could absorb from the Rank Seven pill would depend on him.
“Hurry out of here. Go to Fallen Devils’ Grounds now.” Yang Xiao tossed over two jade vials. “Give him a drop from the jadeite vial every now and then. As for the other one, give it to him once you arrive.”
“… Fallen Devils’ Grounds… What is Fallen Devils’ Grounds?!”
“It’s Falling Cloud Mount Stream now!”
Yang Tian needed a peaceful place to rest. Falling Clouds Mount Stream was the polar opposite of a peaceful place. Hence, Yang Ba positioned his hands in salute. “Elder, that is a forbidden zone. What would we do there?”
“I don’t have time to explain. Just get to the outer perimeter, but do not ever touch the coffins or formations, or nobody will be able to save you,” warned Yang Xiao, before vanishing.
Yang Xiao and they were teacher and disciple if not relatives. In saying that, they were afraid, as Fallen Devils’ Grounds was the burial ground of a Half-Step Almighty adept.
Xiaobai hopped up to Yang Tian’s chest and hooted.
Yang Ba dripped a drop of hundred herb divine liquid on Yang Tian. He was somewhat relieved after noticing some life return to Yang Tian. He picked up Yang Tian and told everyone, “Let’s go!”
Falling Clouds Mountain Stream was completely empty. It was labelled a forbidden zone for the sake of safety after the adepts failed to capture the place. It was also shrouded in more mystery from the rumours.
Some solo adepts tried to go and kidnap Yang Tian’s adopted father, Lin Yuan, for their own ends, but not one came out alive. The incident culminated in Green Sun Empire coming out to announce that they would consider anybody who attempted to harm their citizens as the empire’s enemy.
Few knew what was hidden inside. Additionally, owing to Pill Valley’s upcoming Pill Concoction Convention, most people headed there to see what they could get, instead.
Dark Forest was a long distance away from Falling Clouds Mountain Stream. Yang Ba didn’t want to use Great Void Token because they could end up twice as far away if he didn’t navigate properly.
They had Xiaobai to thank for opening a path for them since they ran into plenty of Spirit Beasts over the three days of travel. Xiaobai saved them time and items. Li Clan was unlikely to have predicted Yang Tian would return to the forbidden zone.
Yang Tian’s skin healed considerably during the three days, but he was still unconscious.
They arrived at their destination a day later.
Blood trails, the strong stench of blood, dismembered remains piled up as tall as mountains and a hostile air was a good indication of how many people died there.
Kun Hu: “How many people died here?”
“If a Half-Step Almighty adept died here, what’s stopping them from dying?” rhetorically asked Yang Ba. “Let’s head in.”
The group numbering over a dozen headed into the intimidating and bloody passageway. The sinister aura was disturbing, so they picked up the pace.
Xiaobai was able to get along fast for he was already familiar with the place.
