Memory Loss
First Elder froze upon hearing Yang Tian and calmed his energy. He felt awkward and apologetic for being rude to his princess’ saviour. Third Elder ignored them and stared at the divine herb. He was disappointed to see her avoiding his gaze. He clenched his fists. He was livid she lost her memories and a big chunk of her Source. He reasoned that Yang Tian couldn’t have been responsible for harming her because he could’ve just lied instead of introducing him to her.
First Elder said, “I apologise for losing my composure. This is not a place to talk. Please follow me.”
Yang Tian nodded after contemplating. “All right.”
First Elder flicked his sleeve. A mist rose and teleported them. When the mist dispersed, they were at a vacant space. Fourth Elder was stunned by their sudden disappearance, but he quickly reverted to his bitter look because they didn’t discuss it with him prior. Murong Feng went with the tide and vengefully conveyed, “They are totally disrespecting you, Fourth Elder!”
Not stupid, Fourth Elder pinched his eyebrows together and thought beyond the superficial layer. Murong Feng was frustrated his goading didn’t work on someone who had been cultivating for ages.
Yang Tian’s group reappeared at a stately abode encased by golden walls. The two elders thoroughly checked their princess. They had verified she had lost her memories. She continued hiding behind Xiaobai, afraid of strangers. Her fear of strangers was due to the unforgettable mental trauma from in the past.
First Elder knew their princess had to either have suffered a grave injury or had her Source stolen. He asked in his deep voice, “May I ask how she lost so much of her Source? She is a lot weaker compared to before. I surmise it has something to do with her disappearance.”
Yang Tian provided a faithful recount of his initial meeting with the divine herb. Third Elder popped off with his loud voice after hearing she nearly died. Frightened, she stepped back, shattering Third Elder’s heart and leading to him flaring up more. It was tragic to see the former genius so timid.
“Third Elder!” yelled First Elder.
The divine herb couldn’t afford to be startled. Third Elder’s energy receded. Aware how much Yang Tian had to invest into healing the divine herb, he stepped forward and bowed to Yang Tian. “Thank you for saving her. Herb Deities’ Valley shall never forget the favour.”
Yang Tian sighed. “You need not thank me, Elder. I only did what I should.”
Yang Tian didn’t expect the divine herb to be afraid of strangers. That was due to her always being in the ring.
The divine herb tugged Yang Tian’s sleeve. “Brother Yang Tian, I want to go home.”
The divine herb’s former home, which was located at an ancestral ground, was still maintained.
“All right.” Yang Tian nodded and sent the divine herb back into Ancestral Dragon Ring.
Third Elder frowned. He didn’t know what to do. It felt as though the divine herb was no longer his. Yang Tian gave him and First Elder a smile. “Elders, she cannot stand being aggravated at the moment, so I think you should not force her. I would like to think you do not want to see her in that state, either.”
“You are right. We were rash.” The two elders nodded.
First Elder: “I have a way to restore her Source.”
“Please feel free to speak, Elder.”
Yang Tian didn’t completely believe First Elder. He had taken the extreme approach of letting her use grasping dao divine flower’s Source, yet he was unable to fully restore her Source. The only way he could think of was using a divine herb. Their valley was unlikely to give it to her even if they had one.
