River Diagram
The divine tortoise carried a stone board on its back and stared at Yang Tian. The miracle stone laughed at it. “Look at your silly self…”
Divine tortoise: “How dare you laugh at me?! You hid in this stone!”
“Hmph, I went in there to cultivate. Look at your silly appearance. I’d feel uncomfortable inside.”
“My foot. I’m trying out different things in life. You’re the one who looks silly…”
Yang Tian couldn’t read the ancient crimson text on the stone. He touched his nose and confidently remarked, “This is the treasure the miracle stone spoke of? The text resembles the text on the stone tablet in the Dao temple.”
The miracle stone shot a golden light into Yang Tian’s mind. Yang Tian was then able to comprehend the text. He read aloud, “River Diagram!”
The patterns on the stone revealed the rules of the world.
Somewhat eager, the divine tortoise derisively said, “Ignorant brat, see if you can lift it.”
Yang Tian: It’s only the size of a hand; how heavy could it be? The divine tortoise looks smart, but I don’t sense any power.
Yang Tian picked it up effortlessly. The divine tortoise was aghast. The miracle stone was amazed. Energy from the stone seeped into Yang Tian’s body. He frowned. The only explanation was Yang Tian accumulated good karma in his good life.
Deduction techniques were derived from River Diagram. Ancient and benevolent monarchs with lots of good karma to their names were the only ones who could lift it. Only those at certain levels could utilise it. Everyone but the humans there knew what it was used for.
The stone board changed its form. Crimson light manifested. A violent vibe dispersed. The divine tortoise yelled, “Damn, a sign of minor trouble. Let’s go!”
Wow! The stone tablet could read fortunes!
Yang Tian felt somewhat weaker. The divine tortoise jumped onto the diagram. When they tried to run, oppressive pressure manifested.
Miracle stone: “The Divine Devil is approaching. How does he know we’re in here?”
Divine tortoise: “I sneaked out a few days ago, and he almost caught me. He must’ve found my hiding location.”
“What? You idiot!”
“You’re the idiot! I never expected him to track me!”
“For crying out loud!” The miracle stone’s slots glowed, because it was enraged.
The cave rumbled. Menacing energy closed in.
Back outside, human adepts were astounded to see the devils assault their own old lair after recovering their strength.
Chubby: “Koo, koo.”
Xiaoji: “Crazy.”
Divine Devil wanted Chubby and Xiaoji’s heads for their remarks. He also noticed someone had taken River Diagram, much to his chagrin. He sent vicious energy inside via a palm blast. Yang Tian felt the impact of the blast through his golden combat robe. The stone and tortoise were still bickering. Divine Devil proceeded to bust open the cave, revealing Yang Tian to everyone.
Everyone began commenting on the new discovery. After being called a tortoise, the divine tortoise thundered, “You’re the tortoises!”
The Celestial Devil woman saw what was in Yang Tian’s hands. “River Diagram!”
Everyone else: “What?! River Diagram?!”
Divine tortoise: “What are you screaming for? You never seen River Diagram? Shout again and I’ll slaughter the lot of you!”
Everyone was enraged. How dare the divine tortoise shout at them?!
Divine Devil snorted then shifted his gaze to Yang Tian and smiled wryly. Reasoning he could easily lift the diagram if a kid could, he quietly said, “Kid, hand River Diagram over.”
Divine tortoise: “Pfft, are you sleep talking already?”
Divine Devil furiously launched a palm strike. The tortoise hastily hid in its shell. The attack didn’t even make the tortoise budge in the end. Instead, Divine Devil felt the impact shoot up his arms; he even scrunched his face up and resisted the urge to grunt.
The divine tortoise popped his head out. “Haha, did that hurt?”
