Supreme Swordsman of the Nine Heavens – Ch. 544

Cultivation Spike

From the perspective of everyone there, they could no longer see Sikong Qiwen winning against Mu Yu since the former was unable to shake off Mu Yu’s spirit beasts, especially after witnessing Mu Yu defeat Tian Budai. Nonetheless, with Tian Budai’s hand crippled and Mu Yu swimming in a cesspool of fatigue, Sikong Qiwen seemed to already have the win in the bag.

“As punishment for interfering in our match, Celestial Star Sect’s members can forget about leaving this desert alive,” threatened Sikong Qiwen, smiling with assurance.

“You think you can stop me by yourself?” Tian Jiancheng questioned, helping Tian Budai up, who was deathly pale, yet wrathful, and feeding him a pill to staunch the bleeding. “Our sect could crush your clan with a fraction of our forces.”

“Shadow Assassin Qing Ming tucked tail when he heard my name. Why should I be afraid of you?”

Tian Jiancheng had no argument to offer. The fact that Shadow Syndicate avoided Sikong Qiwen indicated that they knew something not even the eight great sects were aware of. Tian Jiancheng, nevertheless, had absolute confidence in himself, ejecting spiritual energy.

“You think you can stop me from going where I want?”

“I don’t ‘think’. I know.”

The smirk on Sikong Qiwen’s lips sent chills down spines despite folks standing in the middle of a blazing desert. Something didn’t sit right with them, but nobody could put their finger on what it was.

“Let’s see you try.”

Xiaoshuai whispered, “Mu Yu, there’s something amiss about Sikong Qiwen. He held back against us and didn’t pursue opportunities to attack us when there were several chances for him to. Instead, he effortlessly avoided us while watching your match with Tian Budai in addition to constantly checking the time. I have a feeling he’s waiting for something.”

Mu Yu pondered, What would he be waiting for? Bai Yetian mentioned Sikong Qiwen’s cultivation somehow progressed by leaps and bounds. He also mentioned this being the place where Sikong Qiwen went missing and returned as a different man. Is he waiting for his cultivation to jump again?

Mu Yu checked the time and asked, “Greater Heaven Caster Lu, Greater Heaven Caster Situ, did my grandpa and father come here?”

“They did, but they are not in the audience. I did not let them come close in case we could not protect them in time,” answered Lu Deyi.

“Please keep an eye on them. I have an ominous feeling.”

“But you are more import-”

“I will be all right. If you two stick around with me, you will only get in my way. Please take the two of them back into the city. The dragon vine and Xiaoshuai will protect me. This is an order.”

Though reluctant, Lu Deyi and Situ Yangtian did as instructed. Nobody paid heed to them since Sikong Qiwen stole the show already; everyone was trying to figure out where Sikong Qiwen’s confidence stemmed from. Even Tian Jiancheng had a moment where doubt seeped in, but he brushed it off as him thinking too much.

“As punishment for interfering, you shall offer your body to the desert!” Sikong Qiwen aimed his sword at Tian Jiancheng, and his aura suddenly shot through the sky at an absurd rate. The answer heeded the sun’s announcement that it was noon and swirled more and more violently by the second, creating a sandstorm.

Spirit Severing Realm Sixth Layer!

Spirit Severing Realm Seventh Layer!

Spirit Severing Realm Eighth Layer!

Spirit Severing Realm Ninth Layer!

Body Synthesis First Layer!

What sorcery is this? How the heck did he just ascend several layers in one sitting?! Nobody can possibly do this! Has he been hiding his cultivation all this time? No, that can’t be. Ultimate Immortals Ranking wouldn’t get his cultivation wrong, thought Tian Cheng.

There was no time to think any deeper for Sikong Qiwen already closed in and slashed downward with his heavy sword. Tian Jiancheng hurriedly manifested a big hand to shield himself, blowing the audience away and blowing Mu Yu’s formation barricade apart with the ensuing shockwave.

By the time everyone could get a view of the battlefield again, Sikong Qiwen was already standing on top of Tian Jiancheng!

What the actual hell? What happened? Mu Yu mulled.

Mu Yu crushed Rock of Death before, yet it was slowly restoring itself autonomously. Sand flowed into the gully Mu Yu created over, filling it back up.

Someone asked, “Is this an illusion formation?”

Mu Yu jumped to his feet, realising, It’s not an illusion formation. I know recognise this aura…

Sikong Qiwen cackled. “Now, let the desert’s burial ceremony commence. All two hundred thousand cultivators shall perish here, hihihi.”

That laugh definitely didn’t come from a human!
