Seven Stars Brilliant Moon
“Impossible! What did you do to my Celestial Star Spear and Celestial Star Shield?!”
“The weapon doesn’t make the wielder. The wielder makes the weapon. Your fantasy world your father built up for you and the illusion of your skills you have brainwashed yourself using your weapon advantage is crumbling before your eyes just as your weapons are. Let me tell you something: my Shadow Splitter Swords is over a million times stronger than your flimsy spear and shield.”
When Mu Yu’s vitality flowed into Shadow Splitter Sword, he sensed the sword come to life. Nothing was more bizarre than seeing Xiaoshuai inside the sword, though. Even Xiaoshuai picked up a joyous emotion he never felt more despite never having felt close to the sword. The only one he could put it was feeling as though sealed memories were unsealed. Nonetheless, Mu Yu delayed the thought to focus on the enemy in front of him.
Boom! Another wave of sword qi exploded from the fragments of the Celestial Star weapon pair, yet Tian Budai didn’t dodge. Instead, he snapped, “You’re the first one to push me this far!”
Tian Budai powered up and ran his right index finger across his chest, creating a red Big Dipper. He then fired a red ray from the Big Dipper using a finger command to repel Mu Yu’s sword qi blast. Circular ripples expanded from the red ray. Their clash had spiritual qi in the vicinity quivering and pushed them back.
“You’re the first person to ever force me to resort Seven Stars Brilliant Moon.”
Seven Stars Brilliant Moon was a secret technique only imparted to those who would become patriarchs of Celestial Star Sect. The mobile stars around the moon leverage their spiritual energy to draw energy from the stars, bestowing the user with a short physical enhancement.
“I couldn’t care less.”
Mu Yu closed the gap and brought his sword down. Tian Budai dispersed his seven stars into his body, turning his hand, elbows, shoulders and left chest into light sources, then belted Mu Yu’s sword with his right hand.
Clang!
Tian Budai glowed red upon impacting. Wrist dislocated and fractured, Mu Yu lost his grip on his sword. Thankfully, Mu Yu could stow his sword in a void as it flew off whilst stepping around to Tian Budai’s back to tag the latter on the head. Tian Budai’s head was as tough as iron, bouncing Mu Yu’s foot off the back of it.
“No Spirit Severing Realm cultivator has ever hurt me, and you won’t be the exception.”
Tian Budai swivelled and caught Mu Yu’s leg as Mu Yu tried to chamber and squeezed Mu Yu’s foot. Mu Yu clamped his teeth together and thrust two Shadow Splitter Swords from different directions at Tian Budai’s face for the latter to release his hold.
Mu Yu stalled in the air to give his injuries time to heal.
“It’s going to take a lot more than that to kill me.”
Tian Budai uncorked another punch, turning even the wind into his weapon. Mu Yu coated Shadow Splitter Sword in a formation and redirected the force of Tian Budai’s punch to the vortex spawned on the right to absorb the force. At the same time as he defended himself, Mu Yu created a white vortex on Tian Budai’s chest, taking the force of Tian Budai’s force that was redirected and hammering him with his own attack using “Gentle Wind Graft Formation”.
Gentle Wind Graft Formation’s prerequisite was that the caster had to be able to withstand the force they absorbed. Else, it would come back to bite them.
Mu Yu breathed through his mouth, while Tian Budai blasted red energy beams at Mu Yu each time he activated the stars on his body.
Mu Yu decided, I need to capitalise on the fleeting moment his energy diminishes after he fires a blast, but I’m dragging my body just to get out of the way now. I guess I have no choice but to trade with him. Five rank seven explosion pills should do the trick.
Mu Yu planted the five explosion pills into a golden formation and consumed one destiny earth sovereign pill to boost his defence. He offered what little vitality he had left to Shadow Splitter Sword for the pill and formation combo again, just in time to intercept Tian Budai’s next blast.
Patterns Mu Yu had never seen from his sword spawned, turning into an apparition. The green blade and red blast clashed, with Mu Yu slicing apart the blast and advancing on his target. Tian Budai hastily crossed his arms before his chest and activated the stars in his wrist to shield himself, but it wasn’t enough to stop Mu Yu cutting his right wrist.
Mu Yu immediately twirled and swung his sword across to slit Tian Budai’s exposed neck. Tian Budai was defenceless this time. Right before Tian Budai’s fake life came crashing down, both of them heard, “Not happening!”
