Supreme Swordsman of the Nine Heavens – Ch. 531

Windy Night in the Desert

Wait, how did Brother Xiang Nan climb the ranks if he didn’t leave Twenty-Five Kilometres South Guardian? How would he sneak away under Xie Bulao’s watch? Maybe he sneaked away when Xie Bulao wasn’t around? Is Hou Tu controlling Brother Xiang Nan now? Man, I just have to have my hands tied here, as well. Please be safe, Senior Brother Xiang Nan. I hope Shifu can help us with these messes we’re in soon. Surely Shifu can think of something to help Brother Xiang Nan…

Mu Yu’s opinion of Tian Budai worsened after finding out Tian Yuehen promoted Tian Budai whilst trying to eliminate potential obstacles. If Tian Budai’s claim to fame was all thanks to his father, then Mu Yu’s opinion of the former would sink even lower.

“If I can’t even beat Qing Ming, I can’t kill Tian Budai.”

“Do you really plan to fight Qing Ming?” Lu Deyi asked.

“Rest assured. Just follow my plan.”

“All right. I shall go with Situ Yangtian. Stay safe.”

Mu Xin was unable to recall what happened yesterday after she woke up, memory cutting off after she went window shopping. Mu Yu told everyone in the household to stay put for the coming days since they were five days away from the showdown. He himself departed from Clearwater City during the day to everyone’s surprise and easily shook of those tailing him once he reached the desert. His sudden departure led to numerous speculations and triggered uproar among gamblers. It took four days and four nights to go back and forth from the desert for Body Severing Realm cultivators, yet his bout was less than five days away.

Mu Clan continued holing up in their estate after Mu Yu left, so nobody could figure out what Mu Clan and Mu Yu were thinking.

“Finally,” remarked someone hiding in a dark alley.

Mu Yu sat on a sandy rock and meditated, breathing in the scorching desert’s spiritual energy. Due to the heat, one needed to be able to curb the heat when breathing it in, or it would impact their mood, consequently impacting one’s training. That was where Dustfallen Mental Cultivation came in to separate the heat as Mu Yu breathed it in and where Mu Yu’s formation to keep the heat out worked its magic.

Xiaoshuai lazed on the ground and ate a watermelon that Mu Yu grew using his spiritual energy, while the dragon vine clung to Mu Yu’s arm and cultivated using Mu Yu’s wood spiritual energy. The dragon vine’s cultivation had reached Body Severing Realm, and it had picked up a considerable amount of formation knowledge from Mu Yu.

Mu Yu went to the desert alone to put Qing Ming to rest before fighting his two other nemeses and turn Tian Yuehen’s concern into a reality.

When night fell, Mu Yu looked up at a pasqueflower in fluttering in the wind and calmly asked, “It’s supposed to be a representative of a long lifespan in Daoism, so why does Qing Ming use it as his symbol?”

“It’s called ‘Death’.” The shadows of the pasqueflower slithered toward Mu Yu and stopped on the rock. An individual emerged from the flower and elaborated, “The elderly are on the cusp of death, correct?”

The individual didn’t cast a shadow on the ground despite the moonlight shining on him and his flower. His appearance was hidden in a shadow that the silver rays couldn’t highlight.
