Supreme Swordsman of the Nine Heavens – Ch. 523

Servant

“How much did you bet, then?” Mu Tianhe fumed.

“Ten million,” Sikong Gaoming answered imperiously, reminding Mu Tianhe he was now the wealthiest in Clearwater City. “If I were you, you might as well bet your entire fortune on my son. You’ll make some money even after you lose Mu Yu, at least. It’s not a bad deal.”

As Mu Tianhe stomped forward to confront Sikong Gaoming, a new Body Severing Realm bodyguard stronger than the previous two stepped in. Sikong Gaoming hid behind his servant and jibed, “Your grandson’s cultivation is what my attendant’s cultivation is. All that talk and that’s all he amounts to.”

A Body Severing Realm Ninth Layer cultivator was more than Mu Tianhe could afford to throw hands with.

“Hahaha, what’s your servant’s cultivation? Don’t get killed walking on the streets and not knowing how you went down.”

Mu Yu released his arms to confront Sikong Gaoming, having had enough but suddenly heard, “Patriarch, do you need a hand?”

“Greater Heaven Caster Lu, what are you doing here?”

Mu Yu could fake his appearance, but veterans of formations and talismans could distinguish his unique aura as the patriarch of Formation and Talisman Sect easily.

“I am here for business. I am the one who erected the three transparent pillars, betting formation and all of the other formations here,” proudly expounded Lu Deyi.

“I thought they were familiar!” Mu Yu enthused.

“More importantly, I assume that is your grandpa? Shall I work as his attendant? We cannot let them walk all over our patriarch now.”

A smile came to Mu Yu’s lips. “Thank you in advance, Greater Heaven Caster Lu.”

“Your grandpa is the equivalent of my superior, so I am obligated to lend him a hand.”

“Why so silent, Mu Tianhe? Embarrassed? I have a Body Severing Realm Ninth Layer attendant, while your attendant is, pfft, a Foundation Establishment Realm attendant. There are levels to this. Oh, there was Mu Santu. Sadly, he saw the light. You’re so pathetic that even your trusted aide abandoned you.”

Mu Tianhe wasn’t shaking because he was angry; Sikong Gaoming’s bodyguard was pressurising the area around Mu Tianhe. Suddenly, qi dispersed in the building, removing the pressure blasting down on Mu Tianhe but sending everyone back with the shockwave. Lu Deyi approached Mu Tianhe and stated, “Master, Young Master Mu asked me to protect you. If you need anything, you just need to say the word.”

Mu Tianhe’s brain stuttered as he listened to the words rolling off the Spirit Severing Realm cultivator. “S-Sir, you ar-”

“Master, my surname is Lu. You can just call me Mr. Lu.”

“Sir Lu, are you sure you have the right person?”

“I am. Young Master Mu Yu sent me. If you so desire, I can throw those who made a fool out of your outside right now.”

Sikong Gaoming flinched as soon as Lu Deyi’s gaze landed on him.

“N-no, that will not be necess-”

“Wow, look at what we have here. Am I missing out on something?”

The young man’s voice wasn’t loud; however, the interior of the building was quiet due to Lu Deyi’s sudden appearance and dominant cultivation. Upon turning their heads, they spotted black clouds sewn onto a daoist robe, a pill cauldron symbol on the chest region and five golden stripes to signify his status as a level five alchemist. He was Alchemist Yao’s disciple, the youngest level five alchemist in Pill Cauldron’s history – Cai Lie!

Cai Lie strolled straight over to Mu Tianhe and saluted him with both hands together. “Pill Cauldron Sect’s Alchemist Cai Lie sends you his humble greetings, Elder.”

Mu Tianhe could swear on his clan’s life that he wasn’t acquainted with any alchemists. As such, the sudden greeting from Cai Lie wiped out whatever he was able to conjure in his head prior to the former’s arrival. He reached for his beard out of instinct to recollect his rationality with rhythmic strokes.

“Elder Mu, this one is Mu Yu’s senior at Pill Cauldron Sect and one of his close friends. You can just call this one Cai Lie,” informed Cai Lie, looking at Sikong Gaoming out of his peripherals.
