The elder, whose son died, revealed an uncharacteristic evil gaze that frightened the girl next to him.
Divine Dragon Soul Sealing Ornament warned Yang Tian before that somebody was watching them. Yang Tian raised his vigilance whilst trying to figure out how come they were targeted in spite of their disguise and who it was. Yun’er also notified him using her divine soul after her horn gave her the same warning. Yang Tian expressed he was aware with a nod.
Once he verified Yang Tian sensed him, the elder withdrew his divine soul energy and scowled with his fists clenched. His status was supposed to be enough to protect his son even if the latter was at fault, but somebody proved his assumption wrong.
Yang Tian opened his eyes after a prolonged silence. He couldn’t figure out why and who it was in the end.
“Next will be a round of herbs. We have five herbs a customer asked us to sell,” the host in red announced. She opened the lid to reveal redwhisk spiritual flowers and thousand leaf lotus herb. She clapped her hands and softly laughed. “I do not think I need to tell you the value of these five herbs. The same rules apply. Whoever offers the highest-value refinement material shall walk away with it!”
The locals, in particular, sold their materials to the people who arrived at the city recently. Hence, they couldn’t afford the herbs, resulting in dead silence after the host’s announcement. Yang Tian, surprised, chuckled hopelessly for the outcome was unpredicted. The silence left the host in silence. They sold an excess amount for the day on top of selling to others before it, consequently leaving them with a stock shortage. She was glad nobody called out; else… Anyway, they ended up taking it out of the auction with no bids in the end. Alchemists were frustrated they missed out.
Yang Tian lost interest over time because there wasn’t anything he wanted. Eventually, he noticed the host holding onto a fire-red seal ranked as a Dao Weapon. All similarly high-quality items needed to be exchanged with refinement materials – sharp gold being the primary requirement. Something besides refining an item had to be unfolding for it was excessive.
Though the gaze on him was gone, something felt amiss. According to his analysis, it was impossible for anyone to have seen through their disguise as the owner of the gaze was an Almighty Realm adept.
The young host gave the audience an enthralling smile, then removed the red silk below, revealing a silver sheet of paper. It was an ancient item without any energy leaking from it. The resonation Yang Tian felt from it bore a striking resemblance to the one not long ago. The sheet consisted of two colours, but its aura was similar. He concluded it was related to Dao techniques even if it wasn’t one of the nine volumes of Dao Sutra.
Dan Xueyi said to the elder next to her, “I have a feeling seen the sheet before.”
The elder stopped to think before nodding with a smile. “It’s an ancient item from Dao Deity Mountain and is found in Manual Hall.”
Another elder nodded. “Correct. It’s tough and impregnable to fire and water. I’m not sure if they’re connected.”
Dan Xueyi nodded. “Zhang Clan has researched it for years. I would agree it is special.”
Elder: “Let’s see if we can get our hands on it.”
