Poisoned
Xiaobai blew out a white mist and amplified his purple and gold bell’s jingling. The jingling was a form of psychological attack that had the devil dragon trembling.
Lying in the rubble, Xiaoqing opened his eyes. It was his first time tasting utter defeat in his life; he was understandably angry. He soared up and swung his claw. The dragon roared, spreading its black glow and swinging back at Xiaoqing. Xiaoqing knew a head on battle was folly. Therefore, he hammered down with the black seal in hand. The two engaged in a thunderous exchange with flashes of light.
Having not seen Xiaobai and Xiaoqing in combat for so long, Yang Tian smiled, thinking he underestimated the two of them.
Realising two Divine Beasts’ heirs were serving a single person astonished Yuan Xia for she never heard of such a case before. According to her knowledge, only Western Continent possessed Divine Beasts; she never heard of her clan being in possession of one.
The devil dragon put holes in the void with the black liquid it sprayed at Xiaobai. To counter, Xiaobai inhaled deeeply and dispersed the black liquid with a huff. The black mist melted the small mountain it made contact with. Black smoke came from the corroding remains.
Xiaoqing fired his black seal toward the exposed flesh on the dragon. Xiaobai lunged toward the dragon. The dragon struggled to keep up as it had to fend off two weapons back to back. To give credit where due, it was superior to the two as a combatant but lacked the speed to keep up with both at once. Neither Xiaobai nor Xiaoqing showed any signs of fatigue.
Yang Tian had no intention of joining the fight. “These two have had two much to eat. They need more exercise…”
A stray energy blast hit Xiaoqing’s wing, injuring him. With his energy, however, he healed almost instantly. The only way to defeat Divine Beasts of his calibre was to wipe out his energy in one fell swoop. Otherwise, it was impossible to inflict any debilitating damage.
To match the dragon’s prowess, the two Divine Beasts had to push their limits. As a result, their speed picked up more and more. Their physical attributes increased as their cultivation ascended. Their vital essence became visible to the naked eye; even Xiaobai’s sarcoma was gradually transforming into wings.
Yang Tian realised that he needed to provide the two with powerful foes if he wanted them to improve.
As gales blew and lights flashed, slowly but surely, the gap in power between the two sides decreased in spite of the dragon’s best efforts.
Xiaoqing’s black seal burst the void open to strike at the dragon’s exposed tail. At the same time, Xiaobai’s jingling bell violently wore down the dragon psychologically.
A black beam accompanied a roar in the distance. Yang Tian peered in the direction the beam approached from. The devil dragons’ seal had been destroyed. He prayed Yang Xiao was safe and sound. Then, he turned his attention back to the devil dragon.
“If there are only four devil dragons in this dimension, there has to be a mightier creature.”
Detecting Yang Tian’s gaze on it, the dragon juddered and stared back. It threatened him with a roar. It then smashed the black seal away and tried to wriggle free of the pressure holding it down. It sprayed a venomous mist at him. Yang Tian laughed it off. As he was about to make his move, though, he widened his eyes for the dragon twisted its body out of nowhere and fired an attack from its mouth at Yuan Xia.
“Watch out!” Yang Tian zipped over.
Yuan Xia slowly opened her eyes to look at the incoming dragon. A black mist swept through the small dimension. The black mist instantly invaded her mind upon inhalation. A dark-red tinge surfaced on her skin, albeit furtively. An irresistibly seductive look surfaced on her face…
