Supreme Swordsman of the Nine Heavens – Ch. 547

Fiend King’s Heart

Mu Yu held his breath and scanned the surroundings to search for this “Your Lordship” character.

A gust of wind blew sand to the altar, and out came an individual from the sand.

That same man with the yellow hood at Desert Eagle Imperial City and the coffin he waltzed off with? Mu Yu rhetorically asked in his mind.

“Your Lordship, please help His Majesty,” Sikong Qiwen begged on his knees.

The man in yellow cast his gaze in Mu Yu’s direction and hollered, “When do you plan to come out?”

Mu Yu flinched subtly. He came out from behind the sand statue after dawdling for a brief moment and locking eyes with the man in yellow. Sikong Qiwen jumped to his feet as soon as he saw Mu Yu and charged straight away, threatening, “Coming here was a deadly mistake, fool!”

By the time Mu Yu heard Sikong Qiwen’s voice where the latter was standing, the latter was already in his face and had almost tagged him. Mu Yu activated Void Formation and drew Shadow Splitter Sword from the side, shielding him from the punch. At the same time, Mu Yu spawned branches from Wood Spirit Sword and used it to dance back. Once there was enough distance, Mu Yu activated Heavenly Star Formation to shift elsewhere.

That punch would’ve splattered my brains if it landed, realised Mu Yu.

“Flame Skeleton Scorpion, do not harm him,” commanded the man in yellow.

Sikong Qiwen stopped his assault. Nevertheless, he didn’t move his eyes away from Mu Yu. “He is human, though. We cannot allow him to desecrate His Majesty’s sacred grounds.”

“Are you defying my orders?”

Sikong Qiwen fearfully looked to his feet.

“Flame Skeleton Scorpion? Is the real Sikong Qiwen dead?” Mu Yu questioned.

“He’s not. He’s living inside Flame Skeleton Scorpion. Flame Skeleton Scorpion is only occupying his body and mind,” responded the man in yellow.

As far as Mu Yu knew, only the five spirit lords were able to pull that off because humankind’s five elements’ balance would kick out any elemental demons that tried to invade their bodies. If fiends had that ability, they would’ve taken over all of mankind already.

“This is all your design?”

Instead of answering, the man donned his yellow energy and asked Flame Skeleton Scorpion, “You think Desert Eagle Fiend King is dead?”

“Would you happen to know what happened to His Majesty, Your Lordship?”

“He’s fine; he’s just missing his heart.”

The man elevated the stone coffin underneath him and gently caressed it.

Sikong Qiwen replied, “He lost his heart? I have never heard of anyth-”

“Don’t embarrass yourself with your shallow knowledge. Every fiend king has his own means of preserving his life. They were prepared for every scenario prior to the war against humanity. They would’ve found ways to escape even if they were captured. They used their own methods to keep a part of them from being locked away before they were apprehended so that other fiends could locate where they were sealed.”

In the white ape fiend king’s case, it was his core that he separated from himself, sacrificing his cultivation.

“You mean that Desert Eagle Fiend King dug his own heart out before he was sealed?” Mu Yu questioned. “Shouldn’t Gui Ji have been the one who wanted to find him?”

“That’s what the fiend race and Celestial Star Sect presumed. Gui Ji can only find the fiend king when he is summoned. How is he going to summon Gui Ji when he’s in a slumber, though?”

That must be why he didn’t care for Gui Ji when everyone else fought over him, realised Mu Yu. “Are you implying the heart is in that stone coffin?”

“Your Lordship, is His Majesty’s heart really in there?”

The man in yellow gave the stone coffin a gentle knock, triggering the mechanism to open the lid. Flame Skeleton Scorpion staggered back upon sensing the aura emitted from the coffin.

“What the? That’s the same breathing voice I heard at the underground palace. Hearts can breathe now?”

The man caught the heart that floated up and looked Mu Yu’s way. “Desert Eagle Fiend King has a seven-apertures heart unlike the other fiend kings, which is why his core and heart are fused. That was why he had to send both to the underground palace. The poor other fiends at the imperial city have mistaken that the Desert Eagle Brilliance with you is his heart.”

“Why are you helping Desert Eagle Fiend King when you’re human,” conveyed Mu Yu.

“You’ll eventually understand.”

The man enveloped the heart in his yellow spiritual energy, giving life to the dormant heart. Desert Eagle Fiend King opened his red eyes and looked up to his head. Flame Skeleton Scorpion knelt down in ecstasy.

“Long live, Your Majesty!”

“You do realise I will kill you after my seal is undone, right?” Desert Eagle Fiend King threatened the man.

Flame Skeleton Scorpion queried, “What do you mean, Your Majesty? He was the one who helped me find you. Why would y-”

The man responded, “Let’s see: if I erase your heart, you won’t be able to wake up even you don’t die, correct?”

For some reason, a mere gander at Flame Skeleton Scorpion from the man sent the former to the ground, grimacing and grunting. The man reminded, “Don’t forget that your life rests in my hands.”
