Supreme Swordsman of the Nine Heavens – Ch. 527

Turbulence Seeks Company

“Xiaoshuai, you have any way of making Wood Spirit Sword spawn plants as tough as itself?”

Xiaoshuai kept flipping through “Fiend Beast Nutritious Recipes Encyclopedia” and answered, “Yeah, but it’s a hassle.”

“Let’s hear it.”

“Kill. Once Punctured Sword’s holes are filled, the plants it materialises will be unbreakable,” Xiaoshuai droned.

Mu Yu stopped to think, recalling the satisfaction he started to take in killing certain people. “… Understood.”

“Understood what? I’ll make you some braised tigerbear tail to satiate your craving.”

“I want it steamed,” asserted the dragon vine.

Mu Yu shook his head.

The eight great sects reserved the top floor of Star Hall again today.

The group numbering over a hundred had just arrived at Clearwater City and were there to discuss countermeasures against Sikong Qiwen. The eight great sects had numerous disciples ranked in the top fifty. Nevertheless, those cultivators would only show up at the last moment if the fate of their sect rode on them.

Tian Jiancheng accompanied Tian Budai, who had a nip of tea.

“Let us hear what you know about Sikong Qiwen,” requested Cao Qiushui, Mystic Spirit Sect’s disciple, rank fifty-three ultimate immortal and Spirit Severing Realm Fifth Layer cultivator.

“Sikong Qiwen is a mystery, so we have struggled to dig up much. They used to be a clan that Mu Clan helped. I heard they tried to take over Mu Clan until Mu Yu stopped them,” shared Meng Xin.

“Sikong Qiwen’s exponential cultivation growth is abnormal if you ask me. We need to find out how he did it,” asserted Jia Jiyu, Solitude Sect’s rank fifty-five ultimate immortal, a Spirit Severing Realm Fourth Layer cultivator.

“Before we go further, I want to preface that we can help you defeat Sikong Qiwen, Tian Budai; however, we must all be informed of Sikong Qiwen’s secret,” demanded Life and Death Sect’s Si Wushen, rank fifty-five, a Spirit Severing Realm Fifth Layer cultivator was present.

There was no argument there for they would also benefit if they found out the secret. It would take a fool to think they were only trying to save those who lost their conscious. It was arguably the sole reason Tian Budai accepted Sikong Qiwen’s challenge. None of those present would help Tian Budai when they were closely matched if he didn’t agree to their terms.

“Of course,” responded Tian Budai, setting his cup down. “How did Mu Yu kill Tian Kaiyu in one fell swoop?”

Xing Gao went ahead and recounted it for Tian Budai after getting approval to speak from the other witnesses. It was far from a detailed explanation since they couldn’t even react in time to stop Mu Yu. Besides, how much content could there be to explicate when it only took Mu Yu one strike?

“We need to factor in Mu Yu now that he suddenly surfaced here after disappearing off the grind for some time and is supposedly so much stronger,” suggested Tian Budai.

“Yes, but he’s only a Body Severing…” Mystic Spirit Sect’s Zhu Ke stopped himself when he realised he was able to say something foolish.

“I heard Shadow Syndicate’s Qing Ming is also in the city. Somebody spent seven million to hire him. We don’t know who he’s targeting among you three, but we need to be wary of him,” notified Cai Qiushui.

From past events, where the eight great sects were victims of Shadow Syndicate, they couldn’t incriminate Shadow Syndicate for the reason that no evidence was ever left behind. In other scenarios, the eight great sects would hire Shadow Syndicate whenever they didn’t want to risk their lives or couldn’t kill a certain target. As the risk for Shadow Syndicate was higher when assassinating those from the eight great sects, those jobs only came from the rich.

“Shadow Syndicate’s Qing Ming?” repeated Tian Budai, touching his chin.

“Qing Ming’s whereabouts have always been shrouded in mystery. Why is news of his presence in Clearwater City divulged all of a sudden?” Meng Xin questioned.

“Perhaps somebody wants to spice up this contest or to hype it up,” proposed Tian Budai. “With everyone guessing who Qing Ming might be after, people are going to have more to look forward to.”

Tian Budai had no qualms accepting a challenge if Qing Ming wanted to fight him; he’d seize every chance to prove himself.

But I’m still worried about you most, Tian Budai inwardly said, referring to Mu Yu.

Gou Zhengyang and Lyu Shexin stood next to Sikong Qiwen, who was sitting in the chair in his room. The two bodyguards had already undergone complete recoveries and had their cultivation back thanks to Sikong Qiwen!

Gou Zhengyang asked, “Master, since the eight great sects have allied to deal with us, should we…”

“What they want to know is how I improved. The onus is on them. They think they can figure out my secret?” Sikong Qiwen’s eyes were red for some reason.

“We heard Shadow Syndicate’s Qing Ming is also in the city. How shall we deal with him?” Lyu Shexin inquired.

Sikong Qiwen sauntered over to his window and peered outside with a smirk. “The more the merry, true?”

Gou Zhengyang and Lyu Shexin gave each other a smile nobody but Sikong Clan would want to see.
