Sikong Qiwen
Though one matter was settled, the looming threat of Sikong Qiwen coming kept everyone in Mu Clan on their toes. Well, except for Mu Xin, who was playing with the only one capable of standing up to him.
Mu Xin didn’t know what happened. Howbeit, she was happy and satisfied just knowing Feng Mu was Mu Yu. Mu Hao, on the other hand, was still afraid to approach Mu Yu despite his grandpa telling him not to brood over it. Mu Yu didn’t want to bother with Mu Yu.
“Careful not to touch the green swallows, or you won’t be able to hear,” Mu Yu reminded, after activating Green Swallow Sound Stealer Formation.
“Brother Mu Yu, what else can you make? Butterflies?” Mu Xin was bouncing off the floor.
Mu Yu gladly manifested big butterflies around Mu Xin. There was no issue with her trying to catch them for they were just a manifestation of Mu Yu’s spiritual energy and couldn’t do any harm.
Having never seen spiritual energy employed the way Mu Yu employed it, Mu Hao couldn’t help blurting, “Is that all you can d-“
A ginormous black bear zoomed down toward Mu Hao.
“Hao!” Mu Rongxuan shouted, trying to stop the black bear, but the bear was faster than him.
“Whoa!” Mu Hao covered his head.
The bear gave Mu Hao a hug and rubbed his nose on Mu Hao’s face.
“Y-you messing with me?!”
“I know magic. How are you supposed to learn anything when you’re so easily shaken?”
Mu Rongxuan and the others let out breaths of relief.
“I never knew you are a formation caster,” Mu Tianhe stated.
“Mm, I just learn some here and there.”
“Formation casters aren’t as strong as cultivators, are they?” Mu Hao questioned, trying to break out of the bear’s hold.
“Well… They’re stronger than you no matter how bad they may be.”
“I’m a kid. What’s the point of that comparison?”
“Didn’t you claim you were an adult?”
Smoke whisked from Mu Hao’s face.
Mu Yu erased the black bear with a click.
Mu Hao crawled to his feet and muttered, “You’re an imposter. The real Mu Yu wouldn’t treat me this way.”
“Your idol is standing right before your eyes. How different am I to what you imagined?”
Quietly, Mu Hao mumbled, “He’s tough, hates evil with a vengeance, has a sense of justice, is cool and a gentleman…”
Mu Yu tugged his collar. “That’s so me.”
“You don’t have a single one of those qualities…”
Mu Yu shut his eyes and took in a deep breath. He brushed his chest and cracked a smile. “You’re the type people just want to punch. Whatever. I’m mature, so I won’t stoop down to your level.”
Heavy qi suddenly dropped into the courtyard. Mu Xin immediately clung to Mu Yu. Mu Yu activated a formation he planted in everyone, nullifying the pressure. It took them a second to figure out it was Mu Yu’s doing.
Whoosh! There he was, a young man in a blue robe. His skin resembled white porcelain.
“I never knew True God’s disciple was a formation caster,” remarked Sikong Qiwen.
Mu Xin buried her face in Mu Yu’s chest, traumatised at the sight of Sikong Qiwen. Mu Yu nonchalantly replied, “There are a lot of things you don’t know.”
“Where’s my father?”
Mu Yu opened a door from where he sat and dragged Sikong Gaoming’s battered body out. Sikong Qiwen pinched his eyebrows together as he inspected his father’s severe wounds and queried, “You were the one who hurt my father?”
“I’m pretty nice if you ask me. Anyone else would’ve killed him for attacking their family,” responded Mu Yu, sure he had a chance of beating Sikong Qiwen.
“Qiwen, kill him!” Sikong Gaoming shouted, air shooting out with each word due to his dislodged teeth.
“You’re a member of Mu Clan?”
“Seems to be the case. The next time I catch someone harassing my family, it’ll be more than just teeth that he loses,” Mu Yu threatened, eyes on his family.
“You’re only a Body Severing Realm cultivator, but you are quite threatening to me.”
Mu Tianhe didn’t expect to hear that from a Spirit Severing Realm cultivator.
“You want to go right now?” Mu Yu asked.
“No, on the sixth of June. I’ll fight you after I beat Tian Budai.” Eyes glowing purple, Sikong Qiwen added, “It saves me time fighting you two one at a time and gathering an audience twice.”
“You that confident you can beat him? You have enough energy to fight me after if you do beat him?” Mu Yu questioned with a sarcastic grin.
“You rank at the bottom of the rung. I can handle both of you.” Sikong Qiwen glanced to the others and added, “As for the other members of Mu Clan, I suppose they’ll live until the seventh.”
“I bet everyone in Mu Clan will live to a hundred and possibly beyond.” Mu Yu’s eyes were shrouded in black and white qi.
“Mu Clan will inexorably go because my father desires so.” With that, Sikong Qiwen took off with his father.
“Mu Yu, I think we should all leave Clearwater City,” Mu Tianhe suggested.
“Sit still, Grandpa. Mu Clan will be safe under my watch,” Mu Yu assured.
“I’m worried you alone w-”
“He’s not alone.” Mu Zhexing came through the front door, tired but alive for the first time in over a decade.
