My Name is Mu Yu
“Let go, Ugly!”
There was no way Mu Hao was going to break free of Sikong Gaoming’s hold… Mu Hao had his hands tightly around his neck, while his face was red.
“What do you want?” Mu Tianhe questioned, anxious.
“Mu Tianhe, for as long as I’ve known you, you’ve valued your image more than life. You couldn’t pay me to believe you’d be willing to work as a steward for someone. Other people might fall for this hoax of yours, but don’t you dare take me for a fool!”
“I owe Mr. Yan my life for reaching a hand out to his. I can promise Mr. Yan won’t forgive you for trespassing into his property.” Mu Tianhe struggled to stay on his feet.
“Why doesn’t he show himself if he actually exists? If you kowtow to me, I’ll consider believing you’d bow to Mr. Yan. Should you refuse, I’ll kill your descendants one by one, starting with your grandson.” Sikong Gaoming’s murderous smile meant business.
“You… You…” Mu Tianhe’s body instinctively shook as rage overflowed. He wasn’t willing to bow to Sikong Gaoming. No Way.
“Gr-Grandpa, do not beg him for mercy no matter what! I am not afraid… of dying…” Mu Hao struggled to utter through his teeth.
“Hao…” Mu Rongxuan forced a teary smile. “You’re right. We would rather die standing than kneeling!” Mu Rongxuan then turned to Mu Tianhe and added, “Dad, we will not kneel to his kind.”
“We would rather die standing than kneeling?” Mu Tianhe murmured, recalling he said the same thing to his descendants. He thought to himself, If we die here, it’ll be the end of Mu Clan. Should everyone die with me just to prove I’m not spineless?
Mu Tianhe, quavering, asked, “Will you spare them if I beg for mercy on my knees?”
“I’ll drive them out of Clearwater City, but I’ll spare their lives.”
“Don’t, Grandpa!”
“Don’t, Father! None of us fear death!”
Mu Tianhe smiled bitterly. “But I don’t want our clan’s lineage to end here. If you all perish with me, how am I to face our ancestors?”
“Did you not tell us not to yield?” Mu Jitong exclaimed.
“I made a big mistake because of my pride. I can’t make the same mistake again and cost our lineage.”
“Mu Clan will not end with us, Grandpa! We still have Brother Mu Yu and Xin. Feng Mu will protect Xin for sure. They will avenge us. If you kneel to him I will disown you,” swore Mu Hao, voice getting weaker and weaker.
“Hao…”
“Putting aside my pride doesn’t mean deleting it. I put it aside for work, not to drag out an ignoble existence. Hao is right,” Mu Tianhe told himself. “Sikong Gaoming, kill us. If my grandson isn’t afraid to die, why should I kneel to your kind? The heavens will serve you your comeuppance.”
“I was hoping you’d say that. Kill him!”
Lyu Shexin advanced without wasting a second.
Mu Tianhe mused, I wonder if Mu Yu would forgive me if he learnt my pride caused Mu Hao’s death? I hope I can be an example for Mu Hao to follow. Damn, his spiritual energy is suffocating m-
“Did I give you permission to attack my employees?”
Mu Tianhe jolted upon hearing the furious voice. Lyu Shexin and Gou Zhengyang smashed into each other, consequently going limp on the ground. Mu Hao returned to the ground, while an invisible hand lifted Sikong Gaoming into the air.
“Mr. Yan!” Mu Tianhe cheered, then thinking, Wait, I sense another person’s presence in the formation.
“Brother Hao, Grandpa, Dad, is everyone all right?” Mu Xin emerged from the formation and ran to her brother.
Mu Yu removed the formation enveloping him, revealing his identity.
Feng Mu is the one who has been helping us all this time? Mu Clan wondered.
“Wh-who are you? How dare you interfere?!” Sikong Gaoming raged, humiliated.
Mu Yu threw Sikong Gaoming onto a slab of stone hard enough to shatter it to dust and create a crater. Mu Yu shielded the slab with a formation, but he still let Sikong Gaoming feel the impact at 100%. As he checked on Mu Clan’s members, he fumed, “You trespassed into my property and assaulted my employees?”
“You’re Mr. Yan?”
Mu Yu turned around and broke Sikong Gaoming’s ribs with a stomp. “You insulted my people, didn’t you?”
“Y-you, pfft!” Sikong Gaoming’s blood flew from his mouth. “Don’t you know my son w-”
Slap! Mu Yu delivered a teeth-dislodging slap. He looked over his shoulder to Mu Tianhe and turned back to Sikong Gaoming. “Sikong Qiwen is your son? Your point?”
The reality Mu Yu learnt was that, regardless of what his identity was, unless he put them in their place, people would continue to harass Mu Clan. Essentially, Sikong Qiwen’s name was a weapon used to intimidate others. In the same vain, “Mu Yu” would have the same effect.
“Let go of him. Master Sikong Qiwen will soon be back. I suggest you wise up,” Gou Zhengyang crawled to his feet and fronted.
Nobody but Sikong Qiwen could give Mu Yu a run for his money in Clearwater City.
“He’ll be back soon? Sounds good. Tell him to pay me a visit if he wants to save his father.”
Killing Sikong Gaoming before wrapping his head around Sikong Qiwen would, more than likely, incur Sikong Qiwen’s wrath. If Mu Yu couldn’t beat Sikong Qiwen, Mu Clan would be in dire straits. If Mu Yu was still solo, it wouldn’t matter. With a clan to protect, though, there were others to protect in addition to himself.
Mu Tianhe, of course, was cognisant of the same fact. Hence, he suggested, “Mr. Yan, you should let him go. Sikong Qiw-“
“I’m not Mr. Yan.”
Mu Yu’s gaze was still ice cold.
“Sorry, Master Feng Mu. This old one apologises for not realising who you are sooner. Please forgive him.”
“My name is Mu Yu.”
