Supreme Swordsman of the Nine Heavens – Ch. 494

Upright Hothead

Mu Yu rolled out of bed and slowly opened the door. Thanks to the moonlight, he saw a drunkard looking back at him. Mu Zhexing lied down on the ground and let his bottle roll, while he started snoring without a care in the world.

“Look, I get that you’re wary of me, but do you need to sleep right at my door? At least, try to hide the fact that you’re distrustful of me!”

Mu Zhexing rolled over and kept snoring.

“What exactly did you go through to be so adverse to facing it?” Mu Yu mumbled to himself. He flicked over the bottle of wine and vaulted onto the roof. Gazing at the moon, he muttered, “I’ve also had my fair share of hurdles. My family was framed and killed, and the culprit is mighty. Nevertheless, I am determined to punish him for what he did. I don’t know why I’m telling you this. Maybe I’ve had a bit too much to drink. Either way, it feels good to get it off my chest.”

Mu Zhexing rolled onto his back and sprawled out.

“I only came here in search of someone. Your clan issues are none of my concern, so you don’t need to be wary of me.”

When Mu Yu finally dozed off, Mu Zhexing came alive, melancholic instead of drunk. Having said that, he forced himself to go back to sleep.

“Brother Feng Mu! Brother Feng Mu! Let’s go play!” Mu Xing, attired in a blue dress, ran into Mu Yu’s courtyard and tripped over Mu Zhexing’s body. Thankfully, she didn’t fall over. She shook Mu Zhexing and grouched, “Fourth Uncle, what are you sleeping here for?”

Mu Zhexing blearily searched for his bottle of wine and crawled over to the corner where he spotted it.

“You’re early.” Mu Yu yawned and jumped off the roof. He went over to the well to fetch some water and washed his face.

“Brother Feng Mu, Dad has given his approval for me to go with you.”

“I’m… coming…” Mu Zhexing grumpily shook his empty bottle of wine.

“No. You’re always drinking.” Mu Xin ran over to the well to fetch Mu Zhexing some water. “Wash your face, Fourth Uncle.”

Mu Zhexing dunked his head into the water. By the time he pulled his head out, his beard was a mess. “Tell Hao to go witchu…”

“Don’t worry, Fourth Uncle, I’ll definitely go with her. I won’t let her go alone with an outsider.”

Mu Yu rolled his eyes and went inside to wake the dragon vine. While the dragon vine crawled back into his arms, he had to pick Xiaoshuai up.

Clearwater City was rowdy early in the morning. Mu Xin thoroughly enjoyed everything on display. Mu Hao, in contrast, kept surveillance on Mu Yu the entire time despite sticking close to Mu Xin. They only saw a corner of the city even after four hours of walking around. As such, Mu Yu decided to fly. Unlike other cities, flying wasn’t prohibited at Clearwater City.

“Wow, I love flying, but I’m not good enough to yet,” Mu Xin exclaimed.

Mu Hao could fly, but his slow flight speed subjected him to Mu Yu’s teasing. Mu Yu had to manage his pace to accommodate, or Mu Hao would’ve fallen further and further behind.

“Who cares if you’re faster than me? Mu Yu is faster than you!”

“Mu Yu, Mu Yu, Mu shut up,” Mu Yu chided, then realising, Did I just curse myself?

“Mu Yu is my brother.”

“You haven’t even met him… What happens if the one you’re searching for is actually your sister Mu Yu?”

“Even if Mu Yu isn’t one of us, he’s still True God’s disciple and my idol, so get off my case!”

“It’s cool to idolise someone and all that. In saying that, it’s not praise if you’re disparaging someone to elevate another. It’s also not nice,” Mu Yu voiced, recalling the days Lan Ling’er criticised him to make Lie Shang appear in a better light.

“It makes no difference in your case. Mu Yu is just better than you. That’s your argument just because you’re inferior to him.”

“What if I told you I am Mu Yu?”

“Oh, please, you’re insulting the name now. Mu Yu is a great man. Tell me what’s so great about you.”

Mu Yu scratched his head. “You’re making me blush.”

“You’re not even Mu Yu, your narcissistic prick!” Mu Hao raised a fist.

“Okay, okay, he’s the greatest, coolest, suavest and gentleman among gentlemen, happy?”

“Tell me something I don’t know.”

Mu Yu chortled under his breath.

“Brother Hao, stop acting tough. Let Brother Feng Mu carry you. He can easily take you on board,” Mu Xin turned around and persuaded.

“I can fly just fine,” insisted Mu Hao, tensing every muscle to stay airborne until he dropped four hours later, when he ran out of spiritual energy.

Hot-headed kid seems like the type who asks to get hit. Mu Yu pulled Mu Hao up, but the boy refused to spare him a glance.

Mu Xin pointed out all of Mu Clan’s businesses as Mu Yu imprinted the city’s factions to memory. “That is our clan’s guardian. That is our business.”

“It was,” Mu Hao emphasised.

“What do you mean?” Mu Xin queried.

“The garden is still ours, but the store next door is now Sikong Clan’s.” Mu Hao shot Mu Yu a glare prior to pointing out to his sister which businesses were theirs.

Mu Clan used to have businesses everywhere in Clearwater City but had lost a chunk of them. Mu Yu felt sorry for them. Howbeit, he didn’t need any more problems than he already had.

“Damn Sikong Clan. They’re just bullies!” Mu Hao cussed.

“Work on your cultivation so that you can surpass Sikong Qiwen, and help out your clan. I said it before, and I’ll say it again: unless you have someone of his calibre, it’ll be hard to survive,” Mu Yu preached.

“We have Mu Yu!”

Tired, Mu Xin suggested they dine at “One Character Plaque” Restaurant, which was a restaurant their clan had owned for a long time. Their renowned charcoal-grilled imperial lizard dish was her favourite dish. Of course, her illustration of it had Xiaoshuai salivating. Business appeared to be going well for the restaurant.

Mu Hao didn’t call for the proprietor since the workers already had their hands full. They chose a table and ordered themselves their meal. While Xiaoshuai and Mu Xin enjoyed their food, Mu Hao went downstairs after finishing half of his meal to ask how business was going.

Hearing angry shouting and cursing coming from downstairs, one voice belonging to Mu Hao, Mu Yu walked to the stairs and leaned on the rails. “Who is he arguing with now?”
