Supreme Swordsman of the Nine Heavens – Ch. 482

Primordial Yin Yang

Mu Yu stopped the python mid-flight without physical contacted and pointed his finger at Chang Tiancheng. The python suddenly did a one eighty and jumped its summoner, forcing Chang Tiancheng to hastily erase it with Formation and Talisman Stone.

“You stupid or are you stupid? If you can defuse formations, I can defuse your talismans. Are you the type who never learns from his lessons?” Mu Yu palmed his face and rhetorically asked.

In a way, Chang Tiancheng was given the short end of the stick since he couldn’t use his primary skill. Nonetheless, cultivation levels did matter.

“I can still squash you like a bug without my talismans.”

Chang Tiancheng sprung at Mu Yu with his hand outreached. Mu Yu teleported himself to another position on the Eight Trigrams diagram. Not being able to cast formations or talisman against the opponent didn’t mean Mu Yu couldn’t cast Heavenly Star Sect on himself. To Chang Tiancheng’s credit, he could easily have caught Mu Yu if it wasn’t for the Eight Trigrams diagram given the discrepancy in speed.

“Are you going to fight or just run?” Chang Tiancheng fumed after multiple foiled attempts to catch Mu Yu.

Formation and Talisman Stone’s radiant red covered every inch of the Eight Trigrams diagram once Chang Tiancheng injected the stone with spiritual energy, setting the barrier which their movements would be restricted to infinity. There was nothing Mu Yu could do to control it as the barrier was an innate ability of the stone.

“Run now!”

Chang Tiancheng hooked Mu Yu on the chest. Mu Yu staggered back from the impact. Mu Yu engaged Chang Tiancheng in trade-style combat as Zhou Jinglin did hurt Chang Tiancheng good with the sneak attack.

Mu Yu shoved a windrunner pill down his throat to even the odds stacked against him. He didn’t ask for Lu Deyi’s assistance because he was confident he could stall Chang Tiancheng.

I’m not going to be able to catch him at this rate, while this wound is taking its toll on me. I’m going to lose at this rate, realised Chang Tiancheng. “Fine, I shall spare you for now.”

Moving faster than Mu Yu could keep up with, Chang Tiancheng went hell for leather toward the apparition and slammed Formation and Talisman Stone in.

Rumble! Extra talisman lines Mu Yu didn’t cast spread out on the Eight Trigrams formation. The diagram collected the qi from Mu Yu and Chang Tiancheng, spinning the yin yang symbol into vortex. The vortex might’ve resembled water gently swirling; however, it was anything but. The yin yang vortex expanded its radius as it swivelled.

The black and white spiritual energy in Mu Yu responded to the energy of the vortex, emptying his mind and taking him through a cycle of humanity flourishing and then withering.

The world that Mu Yu and Chang Tiancheng were taken into was pure, in the sense that it was a world of black and white just as seen in dark herb’s world. This Eight Trigrams diagram’s yin yang qi was a balancer just as dark herb was the world’s balancer. Everything, from swordplay, talisman skills, formation sills and spiritual energy was rooted in the principle of yin and yang. In summary, loss of balance, loss of balance between yin and yang, was undesirable and potentially dangerous.

Mu Yu tried to apprehend the balance of the yin yang qi, albeit to no avail. Chang Tiancheng was shaken as he wasn’t bestowed the rights to Formation Palace as he imagined he would be. There was energy within the unknown world that prohibited them from hurting each other.

“Once the two merge, they will become a new artefact known as Primordial Yin Yang. It will only acknowledge one person as its master. Since there are two of us in the diagram, you can’t just take over,” Mu Yu explicated.

It was the same situation as back when the two items were split in Formation and Talisman Sect’s history. Recalling the fact, Chang Tiancheng responded, “Its goal is to test who is worthy of becoming its true master. You think you’re worthy of challenging me?”

“That’s not for you to decide.”

Mu Yu lifted his chin. The familiar yin yang qi started to roil and rise. Aeonic golden text that neither of them recognised poured down from the yin yang qi. The text separated and wreathed around the two in varying patterns. Whoever could make sense of the text first would be deemed the master of Primordial Yin Yang.

Chang Tiancheng’s knowledge of formations proved useful, manifesting a phantom from one of the characters and absorbing it into his body within moments.

Mu Yu sat down and crossed his legs to join the race. Mu Yu felt he had seen the eighty-one characters somewhere before.

Chang Tiancheng figured out another character, getting two steps ahead of Mu Yu.

“Man, I can’t figure out what text is similar!”
