Chang Tiancheng’s laugh came to a halt as proud smiles froze and a shocking result silenced everyone. Chang Tiancheng felt as though someone knocked his wind out of him.
“Is Ling Zheng using a talisman illusion to do what Mu Chenghong did to mock Formation Sect?” Zhou Jinglin blurted.
Zhou Jinglin sought Chang Tiancheng’s confirmation, only to learn he was in denial upon seeing Chang Tiancheng’s scowl. Chang Tiancheng, needless to say, knew his favourite disciple refused to learn illusion techniques, citing them as tools for cowards to hide behind. As such, there was no way Zhou Jinglin’s theory would’ve been supported.
“D-did Feng Mu really win?” Lu Deyi asked Zhuge Xiaosheng.
Zhuge Xiaosheng didn’t want to jump to conclusions after Mu Chenghong had them all fooled not long ago.
Mu Yu regarded Chang Tiancheng with a smile and kicked Ling Zheng’s corpse over. “Formation Sect wins.”
A fire spawned in Chang Tiancheng’s eyes when he reactively caught Ling Zheng’s bloody corpse.
Zhuge Xiaosheng had no idea how to react to the unbelievable declaration.
As Formation Sect broke the silence with an eruption of cheers, a Formation Sect disciple suddenly mentioned, “Wait. If Feng Mu defeated Ling Zheng, doesn’t that mean we now have two ultimate immortals?”
“Oh, crap, you’re right!”
“You will pay for killing Ling Zheng!”
Chang Tiancheng shot a red arrow at Mu Yu from a talisman.
Zhuge Xiaosheng reacted instantly, cutting in and repelling the attack with a formation.
“Feng Mu, stay alert and stick close to me.” Lu Deyi still appeared disturbed but maintained his affable smile.
The other Greater Heaven casters joined Lu Deyi, standing around Mu Yu to protect him.
“Chang Tiancheng, you’re getting desperate, aren’t you? What happened to giving us Formation Talisman Stone as per our wager? Are you not a man of your words?”
Formation Sect’s disciples slammed Talisman Sect with profanity for Chang Tiancheng’s despicable actions. Yet, Chang Tiancheng responded, “I’m not a man of my word? Why should I give you Formation and Talisman Stone when you’d just let it collect dust?”
“That’s not for you to decide. A man keeps his word. What are you going to do?!” Zhuge Xiaosheng powered up and started up his white formation.
“Zhuge Xiaosheng, you have no idea you’re about to be buried with your disciples today, do you? Even if I gave you the stone now, you’d soon come crawling to me and offering it in exchange for your life.”
After executing a series of hand seals, Chang Tiancheng transferred spiritual energy from his hand to Formation and Talisman Stone, sending a rising energy beam into the sky. The arena’s barrier was unable to stop the beam blasting a hole through and splitting the ground.
Zhuge Xiaosheng retreated from the arena and took Chang Tiancheng’s raid in his stride. “Chang Tiancheng, I’m not going to just let you raze Formation Sect to the ground.”
Chang Tiancheng discharged another black beam into the sky, displaying the character “attack” into the sky. Upon receiving the secret signal to commence the onslaught, deafening explosions and fighting took the exterior layer of Formation Sect by storm.
“Zhuge Xiaosheng, my people have Formation Sect surrounded. Either you get on your knees and relinquish Formation Sect or I exterminate Formation Sect and take it. Choose now.”
“Since when did Celestial Star Sect’s disciples become ‘your people’? I hope I never comprehend how you can righteously flap your gums when Celestial Star Sect is doing the heavy lifting, and you’re just their lapdog. We’d rather go down with our pride than wag our tails to Celestial Star Sect.”
“Hahaha, I am merely riding the wave. To speak accurately, Celestial Star Sect and I are just using one another. Once we take back Formation Palace, and return Talisman Sect to its heyday as Formation and Talisman Sect, I shall name the sect ‘Talisman Sect’!”
“I assure you it’s not in your destiny to be instated as patriarch of anything after today. Do you really think you could stand shoulder to shoulder with Celestial Star Sect’s patriarch? You must be born yesterday. You think you’re using them, but they’re using you.”
“You don’t need to be concerned for my sake. We’ll find out who’s right after I kill you and obtain Formation Palace.” Chang Tiancheng surveyed the befuddled Formation Sect disciples and declared, “I’ll start with these disciples of yours!”
Chang Tiancheng blasted eight black beams from Formation and Talisman Stone at the surrounding eight mountains.
Zhuge Xiaosheng remained unfazed, even ridiculing with a lip hike.
