Young Girls, Their Guns and Commander – 03

Griffon – Strategic Area S09

Three Months later…

I wasn’t exactly bored out of my skin during my hospitalisation. There were several things I deemed good. First, I didn’t know who it was, but someone asked the nurse to change the lily every day. Second, my arm was fine. After removing my bandages and plaster, I could move it normally. After the initial sharp pain in my head, it didn’t impact my life. Perhaps I adapted to the pain.

I also gradually accepted my fate. I was removed from the military, so I couldn’t put my life on the line for my motherland in the future. I didn’t know much about the private security company, Griffon, but I figured that I’d get by well with a job. The young girl I saved in the last battle, whose name was M4A1, was apparently employed by Griffon.

“You have recovered very fast. You can be discharged soon. I think I will not need to deliver lilies to you again.”

I turned to see the nurse, who was smiling brightly, place a lily next to my bed again. I nodded: “Thank you very much for taking care of me all this time. I would like to inquire who asked you to deliver lilies to me, though.”

“I am sorry, but I am not sure. The doctor did not tell me who it was. I was only asked to deliver them to you daily. You might have a secret admirer,” said the nurse, adding a smile. Then, she wrote something on her board: “Once your paperwork is complete, a vehicle will pick you up, and take you to your station. Miss Helian has a job, so she will not personally pick you up. However, they have arranged someone for you. I wish you good luck at Griffon Private Security.”

I nodded and thanked the nurse. Everything occurred so fast; I didn’t even have the company explained to me. As a matter of fact, I never received any official documents. I supposed they were short on hands and really needed my intervention. I thought the place would be the same as my previous workplace. You know, fight here, fight there and fight everywhere. As a security company, they would be tasked with taking down enemies and protecting their client. I didn’t see a need for me to prepare anything. I surmised that I just needed to proceed as I did in previous battles.

I didn’t believe in the people’s security organisations in the past, since I evaluated them as only security guards for a group of citizen-level VIP clients. I compared them to us as children. Nevertheless, I couldn’t see any other option. I was also curious why Griffon had such a cute and pretty girl as a soldier. If my memory did me justice, it wasn’t supposed to be allowed.

========

Present time at Griffon and Kryuger Military Contractor and Security Consultant Centre, Strategic Area S09.

A young girl with eye-catching orange hair ran back and forth in a new room. While smiling as she watched the young girl with purple try to lug a table around, she said, “Your commander will be arriving today. He’s the one you’ve been looking forward to, WA2000, the human male who was able to drive off the Sangvis Ferri Squad.”

The young girl with purple hair looked up and loudly exclaimed, “I never looked forward to him coming!! Don’t make things up, Kalina!!”

“Okay, okay,” responded Kalina, smiling brightly. Kalina then wiped her sweat on her forehead. She gazed at a messy room and said, “We need to hurry up and clean the commander’s room. Although this area has only just opened up, we must let our commander know that this place is comfortable enough to live. We must hurry and clean. By the way, we need to contact the other T-Dolls.  I don’t know when they’ll be here.”

Maybe he didn’t know yet; however, human who could go as far as defeating an elite Sangvis Ferri T-Doll had created waves at Griffon. He didn’t know what made Sangvis Ferri T-Dolls fearsome. The T-Dolls knew, though. War weaponry developed rapidly. At this point in time, human combatants were just cannon fodder. It was common knowledge that no human could match a T-Doll. They wouldn’t have needed the T-Dolls, otherwise. For that reason, news of a human being able to defeat a T-Doll astonished the T-Doll. For that, they also respected him. WA2000 still refused to admit it; however, as the first T-Dollto arrive at Griffon, it was clear that she wanted to be first to meet the incredible human.

The sun outside was bright. There was nothing erratic about the air besides the dust the frightened birds left behind. WA2000 meticulously set up the commander’s desk he would work at for a long time. Kalina, however, was absent-minded. She was nervous about something, but she couldn’t put her finger on what it was.

“Miss Kalina, I have cleaned the dining hall.”

Kalina turned around to face the owner of the gentle voice. The tall girl with white hair and blue coat stood there with a gentle smile. Her appearance was different to Kalina’s. She had cleaned the dining hall, but she was holding onto a flower bouquet that she just plucked in her hand, which she wore a white glove over.

WA2000 curled her lips. She was envious when she saw the flower bouquet. She looked as though she regretted not preparing thoroughly.

“Ah, thank you, Miss Springfield…”

“By the way, I just plucked lots of flowers from outside. I think that it is better for us to welcome our commander more formally.” Miss Springfield handed the bouquet of flowers to Kalina and smiled: “I shall leave finding a flower vase to Miss Kalina. Leave our commander’s office to me.”

“Why are you already playing vice-commander before our commander has arrived, Springfield?!” protested WA2000.

Springfield gently turned her head and smiled: “Because Miss Kalina is a logistics officer, while WA2000, you do not know how to take care of people, right?”

“I-I do, too!”

“So, I think you should wait for the commander to come and begin his duty.”
