Supreme Swordsman of the Nine Heavens – Ch. 520

Star Hall (Part 1)

“There’s no need for you to make an enemy out of Tian Budai over his playboy brother. If you want to help Mu Qingfan, you should set aside your prejudices and ally with us.”

“Ally with Tian Budai? Pfft.”

“The goal of our discussion is to collect as much information as possible on Sikong Qiwen to support Tian Budai. Once we defeat Tian Budai, we can force him to disclose how to retrieve their lost conscious.”

“We’re supposed to be opponents.”

“You’re a Body Severing Realm cultivator; they’re Spirit Severing Realm cultivators. You don’t have any chance of winning. Look at the bigger picture. This is the only hope you have of saving Mu Qingfan.”

“What, Tian Budai doesn’t see himself winning? Celestial Star Sect sure has a tough road ahead of them with him as their successor.”

To speak more accurately, the eight great sects merely wanted to turn Mu Yu into a controlled variable since his participation in the imminent duel was unforeseen. Having a wild card in there was a risk to their plans.

“Tell Goddess Meng Xin I’ll be there.”

Rou Anna stiffened up upon meeting with Mu Yu’s black and white eyes. Holding her breath, she averted her gaze and threw Mu Yu a golden invite card. “Bring it with you to Star Hall, and someone will lead you in. I will see you at Star Hall.”

“Cushions. Pillows…” Xiaoshuai jumped back onto Mu Yu’s shoulder and gestured with his hands.

Rou Anna took a big breath through her nose and left.

“Eight great sects my foot. More like eight gangs, teaming up when they can’t win,” Xiaoshuai scoffed.

The dragon vine queried, “Mu Yu, why are you going when it’s clear they’re marginalising your abilities?”

“Why not go?” Mu Yu removed his formation and calmed himself. He touched Xiaoshuai’s tail and walked out. “Someone has to teach them to stop thinking their throne is in the sky. They want me to assist Tian Budai? Pfft.”

Mu Yu kicked a Greater Heaven Stage formation foundation over to the mountain next to Mu Hao and asked, “Kid, you understand eight trigrams yet?”

“I finally see formations are awesome. What level are you? Are you a Greater Heaven Stage formation caster?”

“What do you think?” Mu Yu sat down on the mountain of formation foundations.

“I reckon you’re a Greater Heaven Stage formation caster. True God must’ve taught you a lot. Teach me how to cast formations.”

“Your judgement skills are improving,” Mu Yu remarked haughtily. “Weren’t you dissing formation casters before I left?”

“Weren’t you the one who said formation casters don’t have any weaknesses as long as formation foundations aren’t an issue? You’re right. I can’t imagine myself using up all of these. If I become a formation caster and the best combatant as a cultivator, I’ll be invincible,” enthused Mu Hao, waving his arm around.

“Invincible? You’re a long way away from that.”

“Can I be considered one of True God’s disciples if I learn formations from you?”

“No. My shifu doesn’t just accept anyone who asks.”

“If I’m your disciple, does it make me his grand disciple?”

“I’m your cousin. How are you going to be my disciple? Grand disciple my foot. You expect your dad and I to call each other ‘brother’?” Mu Yu knocked Mu Hao on the head.

Rubbing his head, Mu Hao grumbled, “Fine, fine, just teach me. Once I master formations, I’m calling myself True God’s disciple even if you don’t acknowledge it.”

Mu Yu didn’t want to reveal Ku Mu taught him the basics of formation or that “Profound Formations” made up his foundation for he wanted Mu Hao to remain motivated. Who could say for sure where Mu Hao would go with it?

“Hahaha, study hard, then. Don’t tell people I taught you unless you have some actual expertise to show off. Otherwise, you’ll make me and my shifu look bad.”

“Roger that! I won’t tarnish True God’s disciple!” Mu Hao seriously pledged.

Mu Yu didn’t consider hiding the fact that Ku Mu was also his shifu to be lying as people always assumed only Sword Shadow Dust Gale was his disciple.

“Brother Mu Yu, I also want to learn. Can you teach me, too?” Mu Xin came in from outside and hugged Mu Yu around the back.

“Sure,” Mu Yu cheerfully responded, pinching Mu Xin’s cheek.

Day by day, more cultivators arrived in the city.

Million Company went out of their way to renovate their Star Hall, upgrading it to become the tallest building in Clearwater City, adding a rooftop section for customers to enamour their eyes with Clearwater City’s scenery and culture, thereby totalling thirty-six floors. Each floor provided a view of the city from a different angle. Each floor up cost more than the floor below. They added a zoom-in and zoom-out formation at the rooftop, giving customers the chance to zoom in on certain things they wanted to see in more detail. The ability to fly certainly allowed cultivators to see things from every angle they could desire. Having said that, sometimes it wasn’t about the view but the ambience. Sometimes, it was about proving one had status and money on their side.

To promote their business without directly lulling leads in, Million Company offered free information pertaining to ultimate immortals and other relevant news.

Cultivators weren’t allowed to fly in and had to check in with the guards stationed all around the building.

Star Hall was booked for the day, permitting entry only to invited individuals.
