Unexpected Present
Inside Formation Palace, away from the energy sparks strewn in the atmosphere, were four individuals.
Chang Tiancheng had the corner of his lips tugged up. “What are you doing alone here?” I thought Zhuge Xiaosheng would be guarding you.”
Mu Yu’s black and white eyes ignited an undeniable fear in Chang Tiancheng. “Alone, you say? You senile already? Greater Heaven Caster Lu alone is enough to guard me.”
“Hahaha!!” Chang Tiancheng and Zhou Jinglin couldn’t resist. Chang Tiancheng looked past Mu Yu and sarcastically responded, “Indeed, a very loyal formation caster worthy of admiration. I pray he can protect you.”
Mu Yu should’ve been offed long ago. Howbeit, Bai Jie, communicating with just his voice, stopped Chang Tiancheng and told him Mu Yu was the key to activating Formation Palace. Chang Tiancheng thought Bai Jie was with Celestial Star Sect and gave up on the idea thereafter. Confident he no longer needed anyone’s help, Chang Tiancheng deemed it was the right time to finish Mu Yu off for good and begin his reign.
Mu Yu pinched his eyebrows together disturbed. Hearing a formation kick start behind him, Mu Yu went to spin around. Lu Deyi rammed his hand through Mu Yu’s back all the way out the other side and sent a formation into Mu Yu’s body.
“Greater Heaven Caster Lu, wh-”
Mu Yu’s black and white glow in his eyes faded, reverting his eyes back to normal. Seeing the blank eyes on Lu Deyi, he muttered, “Divine Soul Talisman?”
“Exactly. I can’t believe you mistook Situ Yangtian for a spy. Your respected Greater Heaven Caster Lu is the real puppet we’ve been controlling. How do you like our feign strategy? Didn’t see it coming, did you?” Chang Tiancheng guffawed.
“I thought it was Mu Chenghong and Situ Yangtian…”
Blood leaked from Mu Yu’s mouth, while his chest turned into a waterfall of blood as Lu Deyi’s formation broke down his meridians.
“Situ Yangtian’s personality irks people, agree? He’s loyal to Formation Sect to the core. He was always suspicious of Mu Chenghong and Lu Deyi. He stuck close to Mu Chenghong in order to pry information out of Mu Chenghong. Mu Chenghong wasn’t aware Lu Deyi was our spy, either. Situ Yangtian had no evidence against them, nevertheless, and even suspected you,” mocked Zhou Jinglin.
“You sure are a skulk of foxes,” Mu Yu replied, heaving a melancholic breath.
“Hahaha, that’s what you get for overestimating yourself. So what if you won the tournament? So what if you managed to kill Mo Ziming and Ling Zheng?” added Chang Tiancheng.
“Zhou Jinglin, return our loyal Greater Heaven Caster Lu his mind. I want to see his reaction when he learns he killed his prized disciple with his own hands.”
“Okay. Greater Heaven Caster Lu, time for you to wakey, wakey,” Zhou Jinglin teased, firing a beam into Lu Deyi’s eyes.
“F-Feng Mu?” Lu Deyi couldn’t believe where his right hand was. “Wh-what am I doing?”
Lu Deyi yanked his arm out, causing Mu Yu to bleed out even faster. Lu Deyi staggered backward as he shook his head. Mu Yu pivoted around and shook his head, barely staying on his legs.
“Feng Mu, w-was I the one who did that? I… I…” Lu Deyi tried to scour his memories whilst trying to make sense of the situation. Upon seeing Chang Tiancheng and Zhou Jinglin, he snapped, “Zhou Jinglin, you controlled me?”
“How does it feel to kill your prized pupil with your own hands, hey? Hahaha” Zhou Jinglin jibed.
Lu Deyi dropped to his knees in a haggard heap. No words, nothing could describe or illustrate the misery suffocating him.
“Feng Mu, I’m sorry… I’m sorry…” Lu Deyi wanted to check on Mu Yu, yet was afraid he’d hurt Mu Yu again. “I’ll kill you two if it’s the last thing I do!”
Lu Deyi cast formations, only for Chang Tiancheng to condescendingly erase them.
“You can’t kill me. Your formations are useless against me, hahahaha!” Chang Tiancheng slammed Lu Deyi’s chest with a talisman.
“You haven’t completed your job. Let’s have you finish Feng Mu.” Smiling wryly, Zhou Jinglin ordered, “Bring me Feng Mu’s head.”
“I’d rather die!”
Lu Deyi brought his hand towards his head. Sadly, Zhou Jinglin stopped him. Zhou Jinglin had Lu Deyi draw a dagger and walk over to Mu Yu in clunky fashion.
“Stop! Stop! Feng Mu, run! I can’t control myself!”
Zhou Jinglin wanted Lu Deyi to watch on as he plunged the dagger into his pupil; Zhou Jinglin wouldn’t even let Lu Deyi close his eyes. Mu Yu’s wounds were too severe to flee. Chang Tiancheng and Zhou Jinglin revelled in the teacher and pupil pair’s misery.
