Stepmom-con – Ch. 121

Chapter 121

Prince Leonard was horrified on the inside with both his arms and legs cut off. The others came to help him quickly and treated his wounds, stopped the bleeding but his arms would never come back.

An older Priest of the temple who was working on sealing his wounds was there with him with a grim look on his face.

Prince Leonard:”I’ll never be able to fight again will I?”

Priest:”No, you won’t even be able to help yourself again. You can still produce an heir however.”

Thinking about the Royal Line that came from his Kingdom Prince Leonard thought about it carefully. Roy wasn’t beatable. He threw everything he had at him, he damaged his own magic veins and he was still completely disabled at the end of the day.

Prince Leonard:”Do you think he is toying with us?”

Priest:”I believe he is.”

Prince Leonard:”Why would he do that?”

Priest:”Sometimes the best revenge is a slow one. If his best friend were killed and the children ripped from their mother’s womb in front of them then it is an evil thing that was done by the Princess.”

Prince Leonard:”You believe that hooligan?”

Priest:”I sensed no lies in his voice. For the last three days he never harmed anyone except those who fought to defend the royal family. I cannot say anything else except for that.”

The priest finished treating his wounds and then Prince Leonard was put on a stretcher and brought back to the palace. Princess Arla said she loved him, though in his heart he wondered if she would still be with him. If he could get her pregnant despite this then perhaps he could save her after all, but would she agree to marry him while her brother and father was still in danger?

Prince Leonard was accommodated in a bed at the palace. The servants attended to him and he called to them.

Prince Leonard:”Please call the Princess for me. I need to speak with her.”

The servants bowed and one of them went to get Princess Arla. She was in her room looking out of the balcony gathering information of what happened that day. She already heard the story of how Prince Leonard fought with the armed soldier who called himself Roy for the entire afternoon, pushing the limits of his magic and in the end becoming completely disabled.

Thinking about having to live with him as her husband and having his child was something she felt was beneath her. No one wanted a disabled prince. Not only that, she didn’t really love him. She loved herself and felt she didn’t need no man.

Princess Arla:”I heard the report, I will go and see him.”

Princess Arla brought with her some powder. She followed the servant to the quarters on her own and found Prince Leonard laying in a bed.

Prince Leonard:”Princess Arla, I tried my best to stop him.”

Prince Leonard only started to realize how broken he was now. There were some tears in his eyes. It didn’t hit him that he was disabled when the adrenaline was pumping through him right after the fight but after laying in bed and having servants attend to him he realized he was at the mercy of everyone around him.

Princess Arla:”My Lord, I… I’m so sorry my Lord! Please, let me feed you my Lord! I won’t leave you because of this.”

Princess Arla motioned for the servants to bring her some soup that she could feed him with. Prince Leonard was in the bed breathing heavily. Without his limbs he could not reposition himself on his own so Princess Arla helped raise the head of his bed so he could sit up.

Prince Leonard:”My Princess, I thought you wouldn’t be with me after this.”

Princess Arla:”Of course not! I would never abandon someone who had tried his best to save me!”

The soup came and Arla slipped some of the powder into it that she had brought with her and fed it to Prince Leonard who started talking about his life and his upbringing. There were tales of the monsters he fought and the people he saved. In most circumstances he would be known as a pure soul who did everything as righteous as possible.

In the end however as he finished his soup, he asked Princess Arla one last question.

Prince Leonard:”Princess, did you really kill that man’s best friend and rip three children out of their mother’s wombs?”

Princess Arla without any hesitation answered him.

Princess Arla:”I did not. I would never do such a thing. Roy broke free from his bonds and attacked them because they were testifying against him, we tried to stop him but as you can see how strong he is now it was hard without injuring him.”

Prince Leonard:”I see… I was just… doubting… sorry. I feel tired now. I’m going to rest.”

Princess Arla:”Get your rest my lord.”

Prince Leonard fell asleep and did not wake up the next morning. There was some commotion but his death was blamed on Roy and at the council Princess Arla was up on stage.

Princess Arla:”This man named Roy Wang is a monster who after having failed to attack me now killed my fiance. He killed those who are close to me and he is still coming for me. Please, I plead with all of you to protect the alliance. Only a demon would try to destroy us on the even of the invasion!”

Her speech kept going and those on the council listened, but much of it began to fall upon those who grew tired of what seemed to be an endless war.

I woke up and was going to take a break from going after the Beipan Royalty today. The demon invasion was going to occur so I went to the gate with Erisu today, as soldiers of course. Her soldier was much taller and had large torpedo shapes on the chest plate.

It made it obvious that the person in that armor was a woman. Even if I took the sword soldier it wouldn’t do that for me. The level sevens gave us our voice when we spoke so that was likely the case.

On the map I discovered the death of Prince Leonard. It was something I expected with the moves of those in that Kingdom. They were willing to betray or abandon anyone as long as they could go further.

After we see what’s going on with the demons I’ll go back to putting more pressure on Beipan.

With just Erisu and I standing there and observing the demon gate began to open. It had a red and orange hue about it and the sky around had clouds covering. The weather had changed and as we observed some small demons started coming out.

Erisu:”I’ll order the soldiers to fight.”

Roy:”Alright that’s good.”

Erisu:”Shouldn’t we seal it quickly?”

Roy:”If you want too, but I was thinking of farming the demons for more points to make the soldiers stronger. I also think it’d be good to send a battalion into the demon world itself and see if we can kill all of them.”

Erisu:”You want to kill all the demons?”

Roy:”Why not?”

Erisu laughed and I could hear her voice coming out.

Erisu:”With all the soldiers and how quickly they respawn… with how strong they are maybe we should really do that.”

Roy:”No, we should do that. The demons aren’t really much of a threat if we have enough numbers. There might be more powerful demons on the other side but since you’re the heroine how about you take care of it. Find out what’s happening while I keep going after King Bide and his two children.”

Erisu:”Alright, but once you’re done you’re going to come and help me as well.”

Roy:”I will.”

Erisu:”How much longer are you going to take with them?”

Roy:”Depends on how long it takes his subjects to realize that all they have to do is step aside and I’ll kill them. After that I’ll leave them alone. I don’t think any of the surviving kingdoms of the alliance will want to attack us afterward with the immense display of power I’m throwing at them.”

Erisu:”That’s probably true. Alright, I’ll take care of the demons. Empress Eliza will watch the boarder between the Empire and the Alliance and you take care of your revenge. Once the revenge is done we’ll eliminate the demons and then deal with the rest of the alliance.”

Roy:”That’s a good plan.”

I watched as the soldiers continued to attack the demons. They easily slaughtered them. The demons however don’t all come at once, they came out through the portal in waves but after ten waves they stopped.

That was our cue to change the strategy.

Roy:”I’m not sure what will happen when I die, I know Alondra’s elixir can cause me to live longer if you were to seal the gate now but I don’t want to lose out on points.”

Erisu:”Let’s send some soldiers through then.”

I nodded and I used the map to watch as the soldiers went on through. Erisu was observing as well. On the other side of the demon gate were several demon generals, or powerful demons who were controlling the demons to attack.

Roy:”We can summon more and match their numbers.”

Erisu:”Yes.”

We started bringing in level two and three soldiers now and pushed them through the gateway. The lesser demons were slaughtered, the stronger demons were held at bay and the greater demons were taken down by dragon soldiers of the fourth tier.

It was a one sided slaughter and we barely lost any soldiers despite the attack. Who would have thought the demons were so weak?  Eliza appeared on controlling her preferred soldier.

Eliza:”Seems like the soldiers are indeed very strong.”

Roy:”You sure it’s the soldiers that are strong and not the demons that are weak?”

With every kill and every clash the conglomerate of soldiers all got stronger.

Eliza:”The demons aren’t weak but they’re not incredibly strong either. The average demon is stronger than the average human soldier but you’re soldiers are already beyond the average. The higher tiers of soldiers got even stronger and there is more of a gap. We should at least be able to figure out why the demons are so numerous and start intruding on their land.”

Several demon generals watched our soldiers and angrily began to attack. The charged in but the higher tier soldiers cut them down easily. After more and more soldiers poured into the other side they began to establish a foothold.

Erisu:”I’m going to the other side.”

Eliza:”I’m going with you. Your four stepmothers along with Mana and Sarai will take care of the border between the Kingdom Alliance and the Rose Empire. All you have to do is get your revenge.”

Everything is planned out then.

Roy:”Thanks mom… thanks… wife…”

Erisu:”That’s a better title for me!”

They both teleported in with the soldiers and led them against the demons. I put a few more of the level seven soldiers under their authority since I won’t be needing them much anymore.

The tensions at the border of the Empire and Alliance were also high. From the reports, there were daily messengers inquiring about my whereabouts but the only response they got was that I was in bed.

Since there was nothing else to do I went back to the keep to take a rest. I wouldn’t have very busy nights as I did before.
