Stepmom-con – Ch. 88

Chapter 88

I woke up in the morning and I was tied down by some guards. I took a look around and realized that I saw a young girl in front of me with her clothing torn and her face in tatters. It was that Princess… her name… what was it…

Justin:”What the heck? What’s happening here?”

His mouth was quickly taped shut and so was mine. The guard soldier came out with an anger on his face.

Soldier:”You both tried to r*** the princess of the Beipan Kingdom in the night and will go through punishment fitting of this.”

The hell is this?

Roy:”Mmmmmm!”

I couldn’t speak, neither could Justin. Should I summon the soldiers? I can’t summon them when I’m bound up. Neither can Justin when he’s bound up. Wait… all the soldiers I had in the field are also gone.

Damn it!

I couldn’t do anything, I was stuck. How did they?

Soldier:”Treat them both roughly. Attempting to r*** the Princess is a heinous crime!”

I saw the soldiers foot coming to my face.

Roy lay there unconscious as the soldiers began tied him up and prepared him for transport. Among them there was a large man with a heightened aura that intimidated not just the soldiers but the staff.

Arla picked herself up and sighed as the guards arrested the two who had been a sore spot to her. She didn’t understand why Roy had to sleep in the same room as that other man, but it didn’t matter because they had to take the both of them this way and make an accusation.

Arla:”Make sure they don’t wake up and put them into the jail carriage to be trialed as quickly as possible. Don’t let them go anywhere else.”

Soldier:”Yes Princess.”

The large man walked over. His name was Psak, and he armor that was placed all over his body. He looked down on Justin and Roy who were on the ground and being carried by the soldiers.  Psak was a hero of the Kingdom of Beipan, a warrior who had fought against countless monsters, powerful bandits and was the enforcer of whatever King Bide wanted from him.

Psak:”Princess Arla, will this be enough? I can stop the heroine as she is now with my royal guards but if all the exterminators gather we would need more powerful soldiers.”

Arla:”It should be enough. Hunte is on the way here and he will take care of the rest of the show.”

Outside on the road near the inn the bodies of Roy and Justin were loaded up. Chrissy, Arwen and Edna all pregnant also came out to watch. They were shocked and Erisu and her two companions arrived too.

Mana:”What’s going on? That’s our Fiance!”

Arwen:”That’s our husband!”

The Guards stood in their way as they approached. Despite being high ranking adventurers the guards were stronger and they could feel it. Erisu called out to them.

Erisu:”What are you doing to Roy? Release him now!”

Her voice was loud and commanded a certain volume alerting those who were nearby. They recognized her as the heroine and a man on a white horse and shining armor road up to them

It was Hunte, the Prince of the Beipan Kingdom and Arla’s brother. He had a scowl on his face despite his handsome features and there was a beauty about him that made many of the women who passed by look twice. His armor was not only magnificent but the brown curls that flowed off his head exuded a manly charm to them.

Hunte:”Dear Heroine, greetings this morning.”

Erisu:”Prince Hunte, what’s the meaning of this?”

Arla came out of the hotel now being escorted by some female servants. She had torn clothing underneath and some bruises to her face. There was a distraught look in her eyes as she went up to her brother.

Hunte got off the horse and embraced her trying to look as graceful and sorrowful as possible while the crowd was watching.

Hunte:”Heroine, they are being arrested for assaulting the Princess of Beipan who is my sister. Look at her with the bruises on her face. They went to her room last night.”

The six girls who knew Roy and Justin however thought this was silly. The two men were weak, there was no chance they would be able to overpower Arla who had the skills and strength of an A-rank adventurer.

Erisu:”That’s impossible. Roy isn’t strong enough!”

Arla:”He was strong! He was very strong, he has just been hiding it from you. If the Guard didn’t come as called then I might have lost my virtue this morning. The two of them came to my room telling me how they couldn’t wait to get their hands on me.”

Erisu:”This isn’t true. You’re lying!”

Arla:”I’m not. Roy had two friends in the village that we have recently hired as ex-adventurers as soldiers. We interrogated them about his background.”

As Arla spoke two men came up from the soldiers taking off their helmet. The three wives of Justin recognized them.

Chrissy:”Hemo… Pen?”

Hemo:”Greetings Chrissy. Unfortunately there is something you didn’t know about Roy. He was a very strong and powerful man in the village but we kept it quiet.”

Chrissy:”Impossible! We gave him the Adventurer aptitude test.”

Hunte:”He has a necklace around his neck that had to be neutralized in his capture in order to prevent his mother Dhalia, leader of the Adventurer’s Guild from interfering. It is easy for her to produce a stone that hides his abilities. People who are strong often don’t want their strength known.”

Pen:”I can testify to that. In the Village Xeneva his Succubus mother gave him a device to that!”

Arwen:”Lies! All of those are lies!”

Hunte:”You’re lying only to protect yourselves are you not? After all you are the wives of Justin. Arrest them too!”

Being pregnant and worried about the babies within the three women wanted to fight but weren’t sure how. Erisu now stepped forward along with Sarai and Mana.

Erisu:”Stop and let them go!”

Hunte:”Heroine, you mustn’t be involved with this. The Demon invasion is coming and if you involve yourself it might lead to the destruction of the continent if you make irreparable harm to relations between yourself and the Alliance.”

Mana:”This is all a farce and you know it! You’re just using this as a ploy of some kind.”

Hunte looked at the Mana and he understood that this was a young girl who had been difficult to manage even in the Arcane Sanctum. Hunte had loathed her after she rejected him years ago because she felt her calling was to follow the heroine that the Arcane Sanctum predicted would come. He had tried to woo her as well as Sarai but failed since their calling was more important to them.

Hunte:”A farce? My dearest sister was assaulted and you call this a farce? How dare you?  She was assaulted when men have the ability to overpower them! You should believe women when they claim that such a horrible thing happens. You should believe all women!”

Sarai:”Believe women? Where’s the evidence? Overpower? Do you even know Roy’s actual strength?”

Hemo:”Roy lied about his strength he was strong in the village.”

Chrissy:”Shut up–”

The Soldiers who apprehended the three now bound their mouths as well so they couldn’t speak. This angered Erisu and she drew her sword which prompted all the guards to do the same.

Erisu:”Release them! Release them now!”

Erisu’s sword radiated with a faint glow which represented her purity in such matters. When she thought about how Arla had always been around them she wanted to be friendly to her but she always ended up spending most of her time with the two companions by her side. A Priestess of the Temple who was gifted in the healing arts and a Sorceress who controlled all elements. They promised to be bound to her for life so naturally she felt safe with them.

Hunte:”Heroine, you are making a mistake. The criminals have been captured and will undergo trial. There is nothing else to be done here.”

Erisu:”If there is to be a trial then it should not be in this country where you control the courts.”

Hunte:”The crime took place in this country so it must be tried in this country.”

Corrupted leaders could control the courts and judges. That was something she knew well in her own world where the rich would always escape crime that the average person could not. It was seen constantly with politicians getting away with things that they should otherwise be prosecuted for. The swamp of corruption was deep and wide even here.

Erisu:”You won’t give him a fair trial.”

Hunte:”On what grounds are those accusations from? Was it fair of him and his friend to gang up on my younger sister?”

The charges were false and Erisu knew this, but the fate of the continent weighed on her. Hunte’s father King Bide Solig was the leader fo the large human alliance and the need for their soldiers in the war was necessary.

Psak was standing nearby and walked out with a large sword.

Psak:”Heroine, you can fight but you won’t win. We have Royal Guards here who can fight with you. Your only purpose is to wield the sword that can seal the portals, even if you are strong there are many in the Alliance that can challenge you. This man whom you love is a wicked criminal who preys on women and tried to attack our beloved princess. There is no recourse for him, we are going to take him in.”

Erisu:”It’s a lie!”

Hunte:”He was found in the room with my sister Princess Arla beaten and bruised, the evidence all points to his actions as heinous.”

Erisu stepped forward with the sword and both Sarai and Mana stepped forward with her ready to fight to the death. The commotion attracted many going about their business to come by and see the standoff between the three heroines. even those who had previously been part of their party, the women who had followed them all stood behind Arla.

Mana:”I knew we couldn’t rely on any of them. All those girls were planted by the alliance.”

Sarai:”You know why the Empress taught you personally and none of them? They were just given basic training. It’s because the Rose Empire is not allied with the alliance.”

Erisu kept silent after hearing the two of them. Could she have refused them when they wanted to join and assist her from the beginning? The problem was the plants that others could put on them, and the question became more about who she could trust. Implicitly the two standing at her side had always been trustworthy.

Party Member:”Heroine please, we must let the proper actions take place for justice. I know that you loved him but he had committed a horrible crime.”

Hunte:”Even your party members can see that, why can’t you be reasonable Heroine. Come back with us to the palace and the three of you will be treated hospitably while the case is being prosecuted.”

There was a crowd forming of civilians who were questioning what was going on. They recognized the Crown Prince Hunte and wondered why there was a stand off between the Heroine.

Hunte:”All you who have gathered, hear this decree, the man in the jail that the Heroine wants to rescue is a ra*ist. He had tried to assault my younger sister Princess Arla who had been innocent and virtuous all her life and the heroine who had promised to marry him is unable to accept the reality. We have witnesses from this man’s home town, honorable soldiers Hemo and Pen who testify that this man has always had horrible behavior even at the village.”

Chrissy, Edna and Arla looked at the scene remembering how Hemo and Pen behaved horribly at the Adventure Guild in Adventure city trying to get as many benefits as they could from Roy. When Roy turned them away because he understood it they now turned around and stabbed him in the back despite being able to purchase top end equipment from the money Roy had given them.

With their mouths taped up they couldn’t say anything as they looked in the cage where Roy was he began to stir awake.
