Chapter 55
I was finally able to retrieve all the dead bodies on the surface since the observers were no longer looking at the battle field. The casualties were high but we still had over 110 thousand left over.
We killed the goblins at a four to one ratio including their champions and a few of their Goblin Kings that required more attention.
Justin:”Is the Emperor the only one left?”
Roy:”Yes, all the other goblins are dead and we have a lot of points. I’ll buy a few dark magic users.”
Justin:”Aren’t they expensive?”
Roy:”They are but I’m planning to max them out some day anyway so buying a few more now won’t hurt.”
Hundreds of Dark Magic users were then summoned as the Goblin Emperor slaughtered the level one soldiers. It was easy to see he was growing more tired with every swing but there would still be a long way to go before he died of exhaustion.
He was trapped in the tunnel as I had soldiers lined up from both sides constantly surrounding him. The Dark magic users came as Justin kept fighting and slashing into the giant goblin.
Justin:”His skin is tough, it’ll take time just to hack him apart.”
Roy:”I know, that’s why he’s worth so many points.”
Justin:”If we keep going at our current rate do you think you’ll have enough soldiers to last a few days?”
Roy:”Probably but I don’t want to drag this out.”
Justin:”I guess not. Then again we’re both safely at the mansion while this Emperor is now suffering badly.”
The Dark Magic users came in and used a shadow bind magic to stop the movement of the Goblin Emperor. As they did this all the level two dagger users were brought out and I ordered them to attempt to cut off the Goblin Emperor’s head.
Roy:”I think this is it.”
Justin:”Yea, finally.”
The Daggers strapped around the Goblins neck as he started to bleed some more. The shadow binding brought him to his knees and the large hands planted itself into the ground.
Goblin Emperor:”I’m not going to die here! AHHH!”
The Emperor roared and then pushed out. He dashed through every soldier I placed in his path and ran out towards the entrance of the tunnel but I had bombers destroy the entrance while quickly returning all those still inside so I don’t lose them for several days.
The entire burrow collapsed and the walls came down.
Justin:”Did you get him?”
Roy:”According to the map he’s still inside. The points are only given when he’s actually dead.”
Justin:”Then we should probably bring out some spears and stab into the soul around where he is until we can kill him. Otherwise he might get away.”
Roy:”He’s not getting away as long as I have a map showing where he is. We’ll keep hunting him and give him no rest.”
This Goblin Emperor is annoyingly tough and hard to kill.
Justin:”How much is the Emperor worth?”
Roy:”Ten million.”
Justin:”Are you serious? Ten Million?”
Roy:”He’s worth a hundred more than the army we just killed.”
Justin:”Why is he worth so much?”
Roy:”Probably because he’s so hard to kill. I notice that the impact points go higher faster with more powerful enemies killed over many smaller enemies. I think it’s because powerful beings can impact the world by controlling the weaker ones of their own kind.”
Justin:”Sounds like a fair assessment.”
The strong control the weak, and the stronger someone is the more impact they can have on all of those weaker than them. That’s why generals were often some of the most skilled and powerful warriors.
Roy:”Alright the 3D map shows he’s buried about twelve feet deep over here. Maybe we should combine some bombers.”
The bomber placed a bomb on the dirt and two level one soldiers tied a spear together then used their body weight to push the bomb into the earth. The bomb reached the side of the Emperor and exploded.
I saw the Emperor within the vicinity of the explosion on the map, and then he started digging himself out.
Goblin Emperor:”How do you know where I am! How do you know!?”
The Goblin Emperor was frustrated and enraged. The veins along his arms popped out as he got more angry and he started to attack the soldiers who continued to try to kill him.
Justin:”I don’t think Level one soldiers can do anything to him.”
Roy:”This… this is ridiculous! We should have been able to kill him already.”
I brought in more and more soldiers and started pouring in everything I can to kill him. I brought in a wyvern and gryphon rider to keep an eye on him from atop. The Wyvern was my only one and it swooped in and grabbed the goblin ripping off one of his arms.
Justin:”You should have done that from the beginning.”
Roy:”Yeah, I should have. We are finally going to kill him.”
The Wyvern started to rip the other arm but before he could the Goblin Emperor bit the neck of the beast and then grabbed the rider with his other arm and threw it to the ground. The Emperor then crushed the rider and began to ran towards the forest.
Roy:”This… guess we have to chase him again.”
I had soldiers placed in all directions and sent a large group to cut him off and surround him. The Goblin Emperor kept running despite this so I brought in the level two Calvary units I had been saving. I had a hundred and fifty on horse back while the Gryphon followed form the air.
The Goblin Emperor kept running, it ran down a trail towards the village.
Roy:”Crap, he’s running towards the village!”
Justin:”S*** man! Okay let’s try and catch up and kill him.”
This damn goblin just wouldn’t die!
—
The Chief had returned to the village with the women and his daughter met the boy he adopted and the hugged together tightly. While the Chief was planning to carve a path through the goblins, the fact was that the goblins had so many numbers to where they would waste all their energy just getting to the center.
It was a suicide mission. Still, the chief wanted to see it through. He got on his horse and headed back to where the goblin fortress was but as he got on the path there was a large goblin twice as tall as himself coming down the road.
Goblin Emperor:”You, you smell like one of the little wenches I had… you must be her father.”
Chief:”You dare call my daughter a wench?”
Goblin Emperor:”I’m going to take your village hostage, feel less human!”
The Goblin Emperor as large as he was he charged forward confident that he could still overpower normal humans. The silent soldiers were strange, they didn’t care how many of them died. Their suicidal attacks against the Emperor made him despair.
Chief:”I’ve been wanting to slay you, leader of goblins.”
Goblin Emperor:”You’re not like them, them who don’t speak. You will cower in fear. I can see it in your eyes.”
Though the soldiers did not speak their running in the forest could be heard. The Goblin Emperor had to act so he attacked the chief.
Seeing the large green monster coming towards him the Chief drew his axe but remained on his horse which let him hit higher. With one arm the Goblin Emperor charged, and with one arm the chief swung his axe.
The silent soldiers arrive on scene as the head of the Goblin Emperor rolled on the ground.
