Stepmmom-Con – Ch. 10

Chapter 10

It’s nice to have a mom… but do mom’s suffocate their children like this? When I was reading some of those other novels the mother’s wanted to suffocate… but those mother’s were yanderes. From what I can tell mom isn’t a yandere.

I’m just not sure what to think about all of this. I do want to be happy but I don’t want to be held in all my life. Wait… the summoning ability I just got. I completely forgot about them because of how useless they were.

The information starts flowing through my head and thoughts. An explanation of my new abilities. First, the power comes from the left over energy of the previous world that Dong Chen said had stopped. His Majesty cleansed that world.

The system wasn’t born from that was it? I always had theories in my head of where everything comes from and how it powers each other. It was always a question of whether it was true or false. Going over the system, there was only some rudimentary information that I could remember from what was dumped into my brain on short notice.

The system allows me to summon soldiers to kill other things that can move and be a threat. The more powerful an enemy was, the more points they were be worth. The points could then be converted into growing the army for now. There were other options for point use beyond the army building but the information would be available from the system at a later time.

The soldiers I had summoned were not invincible. If they were killed then they would go into hibernation for seven days before they could be summoned again. The 10 soldiers I had summoned to fight the wolf were killed in that manner and they couldn’t return for seven days. If they were merely injured but not completely dead then the amount of days in hibernation would be less depending on the severity of the injury.

I don’t know why there was such a limitation but I guess whatever the system was, it wanted to at least make some semblance of progression for the protagonist to prevent too much power creep at once. I didn’t really want to make enemies that would make me run away while waiting for the system to power up, but I get the feeling that it would happen that way and there would be a lot of annoying things to deal with if I were a normal protagonist of a novel like that.

As for the soldiers, they do not have a will on their own. They can’t even talk. I can take control of them but I wouldn’t be able to talk through them with my own voice until I take control of a level seven soldier. The information on level seven soldiers however were a bit muddy in my head and I couldn’t fully understand it.

Now as for the level seven soldier, that was the last type of soldier I could make and the maximum slots for them was twenty five. Twenty two types were pre-determined, and they were based on their part in combat and their weapon. Soldiers were sometimes prescribed into units and the cost of a unit was more depending on what they had.

The soldier type list is as follows:

  1. Swords
  2. Spear
  3. Axe
  4. Glaive
  5. Mace
  6. Dagger
  7. Archer – Bow – Silent Ranged
  8. Archer – Crossbow – Loud Ranged
  9. Calvary – Spear
  10. Calvary – Glaive
  11. Calvary – Archer
  12. Magic – Fire
  13. Magic – Ice/Water
  14. Magic – Wind
  15. Magic – Lightening
  16. Magic – Earth
  17. Magic – Light (Healing)
  18. Magic – Dark (Death)
  19. Explosive
  20. Seige
  21. Gryphon Rider
  22. Dragon Rider
  23. Empty
  24. Empty
  25. Empty

The Swordsman with one sword was a path that starts at 100 points at level two while the Dragon Rider was the most expensive and starts at over 10,000 points at level 2. The Level one soldiers were generic and could only equip regular swords, spears or bows. A Level two swordsman had a stronger sword.

As for the three empty slots, I was allowed to combine the abilities and weapons of multiple different soldiers to make a new path up to level seven. I decided to not use them for now since I didn’t even have a single point to buy one level two at the moment.

As for the progression system. For every 10 Level 1 Soldiers, I could then purchase one level 2 soldiers. The maximum amount of level 1 soldiers was 25 million. The Maximum amount of level 2 soldiers was 100,000 thousand per path, or a total of 2.5 million.

It went something like this.

Level 1 – 25,000,000

Level 2 – 2,500,000 – 100,000 per path.

Level 3 – 250,000 – 10,000 per path

Level 4 – 25,000 – 1,000 per path

Level 5 – 2,500 – 100 per path.

Level 6 – 250 – 10 per path

Level 7 – 25 – 1 Per path

As for the strength of each level the information wasn’t clear right now as I just received a dump. The stranger thing about it all was that there were two open slots and I was given an ‘admin’ position in the system. I could select two users to help me control the army, and only when the user died could I replace them with another user.

As for the empty paths? If I were to retract it I would lose every soldier created in that path to start over. Since the amount of points to build out the army was large I didn’t want to waste any.  This left me deep in thought as I was being carried princess style.

Mom: “Roy, what are you thinking about? I’ve been walking a while now and you’re just staring around.”

Mom is sharp.

Roy: “Nothing important. I’m just thinking about my life and maybe what I want to do with it.”

Mom: “That’s good, but Roy before making any conclusions at least live out the next two years. You’ll be traveling somewhere new every six months starting tomorrow. You shouldn’t get married during that time either until these two years are up then mommy will come back and help you buy whatever you desire or do whatever you want okay?”

Roy: “Okay mom…”

Mom: “Roy?”

Roy: “Yes mom?”

Mom: “I love you.”

Roy: “I love you too, mom.”

We continued on home, I took a bath with mom and went to be with her as usual. Since my soldiers are dead it’ll be seven days before I can use them again.
