Chapter 118
In the evening time King Bide gathered with the others and was furious. Roy had left before the soldier was able to deliver a message and the dead bodies of Queen Pelos and King Harri were found.
Prince Leonard was angry and burst into his throne room.
Prince Leonard:”Your Majesty! My mother is dead! All her attendants are dead and the only eye witnesses stated that she last went to a meeting with you and King Harri!”
The guards in the throne room stood forward ready to push Prince Leonard out but he glared at then and yelled.
Prince Leonard:”Kneel!”
The guards were forcefully kneeling after being compelled by the voice coming from the Prince. He was a tall muscular and sturdy man that was intimidating all around.
King Bide:”Prince Leonard, they were killed by Roy.”
The Prince gave King Bide a scowl.
King Bide:”He came to the capital, we sent as many soldiers as we could to kill him then he arrived in the chamber and killed them before leaving. The man is mysterious and has the ability to teleport. He disappeared three days ago from the capital after faking his death right before the eyes of all those around. Erisu was his accomplace.”
Prince Leonard:”Teleport?”
The angry Prince Leonard had no choice when he considered the fact there was very little information about Roy or his abilities. Everyone knew him only as a weak boy born in a village whom the heroine fell in love with. The more powerful Roy actually was however, the more believable it was that the heroine chose him over the crown prince Hunte of Beipan.
King Bide:”My Kingdom and Capital are under attack. I have done all I can to stop him but the soldiers and heroes that I’ve hired have all been for naught. They were killed by Roy, even my General the Great Warrior known as Psak fell in death today.”
Prince Leonard:”Psak is dead?”
King Bide:”The army is now being mobilized to defend the capital for when he comes again. The guards we use are simply not enough. I will call upon the great warriors and heroes of the Beipan Kingdom and any allies we may have.”
Prince Leonard could not refute. Arla came behind him and hugged his arm with a soft look on her face.
Arla:”Prince Leonard, I’m sorry about mother-in-law but now that man is coming to kill me, my brother and my father. He was a man who tried to assault my purity and now wants to destroy everything we have built here!”
Unlike his mother Prince Leonard was a man of integrity. A true hero who would fight to save the world. Many things were kept from him because of his good nature but his mother had hoped he would take over the Alliance over Prince Hunte whom she saw as nothing but a skirt chasing wastrel.
Prince Leonard calmed himself as he was a rational person.
Prince Leonard:”I will help fight him off then.”
King Bide:”Thank you.”
Prince Leonard then took his lead with Princess Arla as Prince Hunte arrived. Visibly he was sweating as it now occurred to him that there was an enemy he wasn’t completely safe from.
Prince Hunte:”Father, can we kill him really? He killed General Psak! General Psak is dead!”
Prince Hunte was frantic and moving up and down in the throne room. The guards dared not approach him as he was royalty and they were at most knights which were the bottom rung of nobility.
Prince Hunte:”Father! Call the mages! We need to kill him! There must be some black magic or evil magic involved with him! I’m telling you he isn’t human! No one can just come back like that!”
King Bide:”Calm yourself!”
King Bide stood up which made his presence in front of others much louder.
Prince Hunte:”Calm myself father? You said that everything could be taken care of! You said that I could have the heroine as my bride and I could have her! You said so many things would happen well for us after we started the alliance. You said the demons would be nothing! How can I believe you anymore father? How can I believe you when this Roy came back from the dead and grew his arms back? How? How can–”
King Bide slapped his son interrupting his rambling. The prince was only good at playing around with women and nothing else. This was the first time in his life he had felt threatened and the more King Bide thought about it the more troubled he became over having raised such a weak willed son who only thought with the organ between his legs.
Due to his royal blood the many problems and awful things he had done to commoners without consequences it was difficult for King Bide to do much else to try and reign him in.
King Bide:”Panicking isn’t going to change the outcome. We have severely underestimated the heroine’s fiance. That was a mistake you made since you wanted to go with her and I entertained because you were my son. Roy attacking us is your fault, son.”
Prince Hunte:”How is it my fault? You’re my father! Why didn’t you stop me-”
Another slap to the face.
King Bide:”Silence! No more from you! Go to bed!”
Soldiers loyal only to King Bide, masked soldiers whose identities were not known picked up the Prince and brought him away. King Bide stood there in the throne room surrounded by the most loyal soldiers thinking about how he killed the two of them and how he would have to address the council the next day during their meeting.
Prince Hunte went to his room still angry and unsure of what to do. The room was locked and he found he couldn’t go out. Prince Hunte began banging on his door.
Prince Hunte:”Let me out! Why am I trapped in here?”
A voice came from the other side of the door.
Guard:”You are to remain in here until further notice. Orders by your father.”
Prince Hunte:”My father is holding me prisoner? My father is holding me prisoner?”
Prince Hunte was shocked as this was the first time his father had ever restricted him. It was not something he was used to and so he began banging on the door throwing a tantrum until both his fists hurt. After he grew tired he lay down on the bed and went to sleep unsure of what to do.
The Prince was crying.
In a separate area out on the balcony Princess Arla was holding onto Prince Leonard as they looked at the sky. The Princess had been shaken at the events during the day and wasn’t sure how Roy came back. She killed Justin’s wives tore out the babies.
She still remembered the feeling of the unborn child ripped from its mothers womb. It had moved its limbs trying to grasp for nutrients and comfort but she had cut it to pieces in front trying to force Justin into making a statement about Roy being part of the demons.
Currently there was no need to frame him as his attacks on the capital and the killing of many soldiers that littered the streets was no longer an issue. Still she had fear for her own life, sorry that now there was someone dangerous after her.
Prince Leonard:”Are you afraid princess?”
Princess Arla:”My Lord, I am.”
Prince Leonard:”Why would he want to kill you? You told me it was Prince Hunte who acted as a wastrel and took him on his own.”
Princess Arla:”I don’t know… I don’t know… perhaps it’s because I refused him in the shop. He must have thought that being with the heroine meant his status was important.”
Prince Leonard:”Is this the truth?”
Princess Arla:”Yes my lord! It’s the truth!”
Tears fell from her eyes as she snuggled into him with her own body warmth in the nights air. There was always a desire for men to protect women, especially beautiful young women who made themselves vulnerable in front of them.
The night passed and the morning came and King Bide went to the Council meeting. The meeting started without Queen Pelos and King Harri and the other monarchs who were there were perplexed. King Bide called the council into order.
King Bide:”This meeting will now begin. Yesterday there were two tragic deaths by Roy, who came to the capital and killed two monarchs who had worked closely with the Alliance. My two great friends Queen Pelos and King Harri were found dead in the room when he had attacked coming after me. Roy is therefore a menace to the Alliance and most likely is colluding with the demons to kill us all and must be stopped. As the leader of the Alliance I invoke the motion of nemesis, as Roy Wang should now be considered a nemesis to the Alliance! Will anyone second me and vote to pass this resolution?”
The hands went up to second, then more hands went up to pass the resolution. The thought that there would be a powerful man out for their lives was something the monarchs feared most. With the passage of the resolution they began to bring in the strongest heroes to the Capital to fight against the man who would later appear.
King Bide:”The attack pattern of the madman named Roy is usually in the afternoon. It is likely the dark and evil demon magic only happens after the sun has passed the midpoint of the day.”
